My Review

I have been playing with these new liquid eyeshadows for about a month now and I absolutely love them. I am far from an eyeshadow pro, yet I find them easy to use for a range of different looks.

Does is crease on oily eyelids?

Once they are dried down, they do not move, so they are absolutely amazing if you get watery eyes, or simply have a long day or night ahead.

What is the wear time?

All the shades are the most amazing ‘one and done’ colours because they set so beautifully and stay in place all day. Once set, they last and last.

How easy are they to blend?

The doe-foot applicator is lovely and it smooths on the product really evenly. In a couple of swipes it is blended seamlessly so you don’t really need to use a brush or fingers, although of course you can.

For me, the Sisley Ombre Éclat Liquide is a brilliant one and done option. This suits me because I am not very technical when it comes to eye makeup and I love to use a single shadow for a pretty wash of colour.

Can you use more than one colour at once?

Because this formula is so easy to use, I have actually been experimenting more! I have been using a few shades at once and they are very easy to blend together. Keep reading for a look I have been wearing with three shades.

The deeper shades are great all over the lid as well, and I like to start applying in the crease and blend downwards towards the lash line. This technique gives you a really nice crease contour and is great for if you have hooded lids like me.

I love the smooth, velvety finish of this liquid shadow and I love how easy they are to work with.

TOP TIP: because these dry down and set so well, you do need to work pretty quickly as you apply and use the applicator to blend out the colour to where you want it. So make sure you do one eye at a time.

Are they good for mature skin?

I am 47 and am absolutely loving them for my skin. The texture of the Sisley Ombre Éclat Liquide is really fine, and it feels light on the lids. There’s no creasing or settling into lines or crepey skin. It’s quite amazing. As long as you work fairly quickly when it comes to blending, there’s absolutely no patchiness or lifting.

My favourite shades for a single wash of colour are 1 Champagne 2 Copper, and 4 Coral. Coral is the one I am completely obsessed with because I have been getting questions about it when I wear it.

No 1 Champagne is the most stunning highlight shade. It is amazing on the brow bone and the inner corner, plus if you want to get a bit fancy, it makes a beautiful spotlight down the centre of the lid, over a darker shade.

They are all absolutely wonderful.

I have a lot of makeup favourites from Sisley, so I thought it would be fun to put them all together to created this look with the new liquid eyeshadows.

I used my three favourite shades of the Sisley Ombre Éclat Liquide for my version of a wearable, graphic eye that’s suitable for hooded eye (because that’s what I’ve got!). If this looks good on hooded eyes, it looks good on all eye shapes!

I used the No 4 Coral along the lash line and into the crease, and then filled in the lid with No 1 Champagne for lightness and brightness. I also popped a bit of this shade in the inner corners and right on the brow bone.

I used No 2 Copper along the bottom lash line and swept it up to meet the Coral on the outer corner. I wore this look out last week and got loads of compliments which made be happy because I’m not usually very confident with eye makeup.

On the lashes I used the Sisley So Intense Mascara*. I love this because it has a tiny comb that really stretches out the lashes and it’s so precise that I don’t make a mess of it.

For skin, I used the Sisley Phyto-Teint Nude foundation in Cream 1W. This is a gorgeous skincare and makeup hybrid and it gives the skin a really perfected yet natural look. I have a full blog post with swatches and before and after photos.

I finished the skin with the Illusion d’Ete bronzer* for warmth and used a touch of the Phyto-Twist Blush* in No 3 Papaya over the cheeks and a little over the bridge of the nose for a sunkissed look.

I then used the Blur Expert*, which is one of the very few powders I love. It is brilliant for gently taking down shine and blurring the look of pores, without ever looking cakey or powdery.

I finished with a slick of No 20 Sheer Petal in the new Sisley shiny lipstick*. I absolutely love the formula and finish. I have a full blog post with all the shades you can check out. Here’s my Sisley Phyto- Rouge Shine blog post.
