I love StriVectin skincare and their new launch truly celebrates everything they do best as a brand, which is all about strengthening the all-important skin barrier. Here’s the lowdown on the StriVectin Super-B Barrier Strengthening Oil which has a unique oil-based prebiotic blend. I have been testing it out.
What is StriVectin Super-B Barrier Strengthening Oil?

This is a face oil with a difference because it uses a first-of-its-kind oil-based prebiotic blend that focuses on balancing the skin’s microbiome for a healthy and glowing complexion.
- Clinically proven to strengthen skin’s barrier and balance the microbiome
- Great for moisturising dry, dull skin
- Calms, soothes and visibly reduces the appearance of redness
- Promotes a more even skin tone and healthy glow
Key Ingredients
Apart from the unique Prebiotic Blend, this is a really special formula because all the ingredients are supercharged by the brand’s hero NIA-114 technology – an optimised form of Niacin Vitamin B3.
- Prebiotic (Bacillus Ferment) Blend – Sourced from French Hot Springs in the volcanic Auvergne region of France
- This prebiotic blend is the first of its kind and is a Prebiotic Fatty Acid Complex that combines Bacillus Ferment with Jojoba and Oat Oils to support the microbiome
- Meadowfoam Seed Oil – Plant-based oil rich in fatty acids and antioxidants that helps seal in moisture and nourish skin
- NIA-114™ – patented, optimised form of Niacin/Vitamin B3 that is clinically proven to strengthen the skin barrier and supercharges the performance of other ingredients
My Review of StriVectin Super-B Barrier Strengthening Oil

I was so keen to properly test out this formula because StriVectin are the masters when it comes to barrier strengthening. This is thanks to their special form of Niacin (NIA-114 Technology). It is included in all products and works to strengthen the skin barrier, and protect against environmental stressors.
So, if you have a compromised skin barrier and are suffering with any visible redness, dryness or dullness, this new oil will be an absolutely powerhouse.
The Texture
The StriVectin Super-B Barrier Strengthening Oil has such a beautiful texture. It is light and absorbs into the skin really easily, yet feels super hydrating.

I love this for daytime for extra glow because it’s lightweight enough to wear under makeup.
Is the StriVectin Super-B Barrier Strengthening Oil good for mature skin?
Although this oil has it focus on barrier building, this is a key consideration for healthy, strong skin. As a result, it is excellent on lines, wrinkles and firmness.
I have been using this in my regime for over three weeks now and I love how smooth and even it makes my skin. It is brilliant to calm redness or irritation, plus it just makes the complexion glow.
Is it good for stressed skin?
This oil is great for stressed skin because issues are generally caused by a compromised skin barrier. Super-B works to strengthen the skin with a prebiotic blend and nourishing oils for optimum hydration. Also the StriVectin NA-114 technology is great for minimising any visible redness.
How to use it
I love using it straight on to clean skin for instant soothing and glow, and it layers on beautifully over a serum if I want to layer on more hydration or other active ingredients.
You can also mix a few drops into your moisturiser to supercharge it with barrier repairing benefits.
I also love pressing a few drops over my skin before refreshing my makeup as it hydrates and smooths everything out. I can just top up with a bit of concealer and it looks like I have done my makeup from scratch.
This will be a perfect addition to your skincare routine as we move into the colder months. It can slot into any regime and works brilliantly alongside acids or retinol-type products.
