Illamasqua Once Nail Varnish Melange Swatch

I am really loving the new Illamasqua collection for Fall 2014, particularly the gorgeous metallic cream eyeshadows, Vintage Metallix. There is also a gorgeous nail polish – Illamasqua Once Nail Varnish Melange – which is a stunning gilt number. Here it is!

Now this polish has been a bit of a surprise because when I saw it in the campaign shot, (which you can see HERE), it looked rather a lot darker and quite a lot like another Illamasaqua polish I own. I was thinking Facet from The Sacred Hour collection, but it is totally different!

This is much greener and fresher, perhaps more of a sage green with lots and lots (and lots) of very soft gold shimmer. It is really so pretty.

It is quite unusual isn’t it? It reminds me of another polish but I just can’t remember which. Let me know if you know! Here’s the swatch for you.

The formula is lovely and easy to use – this is 2 coats. There’s no top coat in the photo above but I think it would look even prettier with a glossy slick of super shininess. I love how bright this is, and it makes a change from all the super dark autumnal shades that we usually see throughout the season.
