When I heard there was a new Ambient powder, I knew I had to have it because the Hourglass skin aesthetic is everything to me! The new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Infinity Powder promises three times the dimension, three times the perfection and inifinite radiance. Get on my face!!!
If powder scares you like it does me, this could be right up your street.
Hourglass have found a way to mix two parts ambient lighting powder, with one part ambient strobe highlighter. At the moment it is only available in one shade, and I really hope they are working on more shades so that they can cater to a wider audience with this product.
What is Hourglass Ambient Lighting Infinity Powder?
- First-of-its-kind finishing powder features two ambient lighting powders and an ambient strobe highlighter in one blend
- Imparts the complexion with a soft focus and natural radiance
- Hand-blended using the miscelare technique to ensure a perfect marbling of pigment and luminescence in one formula
- Ideal for light to medium skin tones
So as I have already touched on, we have one major problem with this, and that’s the fact that it comes in one shade, which openly professes to be ideal only for light to medium skintones. Lucky for me, I fit into that that category.
I am currently trying to find out if there are plans for additional shades. It is possible that there are more shades coming, and maybe there’s some kind of delay due to current global circumstances.
Hourglass Infinity Powder Swatch
This is a finishing powder, so I tested on top of the Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Foundation, set with the La Mer Soft Moisture Powder Foundation. It is very good at taking down shine and it replaces it with a very smooth, perfected, almost poreless complexion.
I’d say that you also could be use this as a glowy setting powder, as well as a finishing powder, because it is absolutely amazing at perfecting the appearance of the skin whilst holding other products in place. It blurs texture and pores and is the perfect last step for me, after I have applied my base products.
When I tested it for the day, I used it after I had applied my bronzer, and it really helped to fuse everything together on the skin and make my complexion look almost airbrushed.
I used highlighter on top, because I like uber-glow and didn’t want the powder element to take down any of the shine. My makeup lasted really well and the luminosity stayed all day. There’s a velvet quality about the finish which makes it look rather a lot like natural radiance.
