This is a seriously exciting new launch from Team Tilbury!! I am rather smitten with it. Check out the brand new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara!! It is out now.
So first of all, can we just talk about the packaging?! I don’t think I’ve ever loved the look of a mascara more!! The gorgeous baby pink tube, which has a heavy ceramic feel to it, is perfectly topped off with a gorgeous rose gold lid. Love it!
The Pillow Talk franchise all started with a lip liner and it has grown and grown from there. There’s now lipstick in every formula, a range of eyeshadows and also it now comes in a range of shades to suit different skin tones. Next stop – MASCARA!
Until now, I have loved the majority of launches from the Charlotte Tilbury brand, but I was yet to really fall for a mascara.
Why did Charlotte create a new Pillow Talk Mascara?
Charlotte was born with very fair lashes, and felt that she lacked architecture to her eye. When she discovered mascara at the age of thirteen, it changed her life.
As a result CT has had an obsession with lashes for many years, and she loves how you can change the look and size of the eyes with mascara.
Charlotte says that she created this mascara to fill a gap in the market. She believes that existing mascaras that deliver drama and lift often have heavy textures that can become ashy looking. They lack a lightweight texture and end up weighing the lashes down.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Mascara Features
With the new mascara, Charlotte wanted something really lightweight, something that remained glossy and had movement and stretch to it, whilst giving a vertical lift.

The Pillow Talk Paddle Brush
This is a very diverse brush with short bristles at the side and it can be used to create a range of looks. Charlotte calls is a next generation, pro-precision, injection moulded brush.
It gives an immediate opening and lifting to the eye, and you can build from a light slick up to something a lot more dramatic, with increased intensity and lift.
It’s has a paddle brush that is flat, with tiny diamond shaped bristles at the side, and a reservoir that sits in the middle. It allows for what Charlotte calls pro-precision and the ‘load and comb’ technique.
The flatness of the brush, deposits a certain amount of mascara at the lash line to give immediate intensity almost like a double lash line. Then the bristles work to separate the lashes as they glide through the length.
The paddle brush also allows for vertical painting of the lashes, with ultimate precision and you can individually paint the lashes.
The mascara formula has an amazing gummy stretch thanks to canuba wax, keratin and Polysaccharides derived from the larch tree it contains. It has a lightweight texture yet delivers a vinyl stretch, that doesn’t crumble or dry.
The colour is super jet black for major impact. The formula lifts the lashes even without a lash curler, and thanks to it ultra light formula, it holds, and it never weighs the lashes down. Charlotte calls likens the lash hold to muscle memory!
My Review of Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes
Charlotte says that the mascara has been tested on all types of lashes – short, straight, curled, crisscrossed, bare, patchy. I have fairly straight lashes and a fear of lash curlers, so this mascara works really well for me.
The formula is so black – probably the blackest mascara I have ever used. The colour is quite incredible.
I love the way it densifies the lashes right at the root. It makes my lashes look tightlined, which is something I am never able to do myself. Also, the curl and lift is super easy to achieve, and by creating that lift so close to the base of the lashes, you can achieve incredible length.
Pillow Talk Push Up’s formula is indeed super light. It stays flexible on the lashes which is very rare for a lifting and curling mascara. It’s so light that it doesn’t put any weight on the lashes so the curl and lift stays true. I love the way it looks.
One coat delivers instant lift, and as I love a chunky looking lash, I went for a generous second coat for real drama.
At the press launch, Charlotte told us how you can paint the lashes into any shape you like, so I went for a real vertical lift on the left side, and more of a wing shape on the right.
Well that was my intention anyway! What do you think?
