Benefit’s pore minimising primer has earned itself cult status in the beauty industry. The latest launch is the Benefit POREfessional Hydrate Primer which promises all the benefits of the original but with 12 hours of hydration added in. Here’s the lowdown.

We all need a bit of extra hydration at this time of year, so I think fans of the original will be really interested in this launch.

Although I do worry about the appearance of enlarged pores, I am more concerned with getting my skin to glow, so a product like POREfessional hasn’t ever really made it into my routine. In any case, I was keen to give the new Benefit POREfessional Hydrate a go.

My Review

This has a lovely effect on the appearance of pores and it’s very smoothing on the texture of the skin. It does feel nicely hydrating and creates a nice base for foundation which applies over the top really easily.

I can feel the extra hydration in the formula, but not as much as I was expecting, so I think this would be great for normal and oily skin, but still perhaps not enough for dry skin without perhaps a good helping of moisturiser underneath.

My foundation wore really well over this, and I did really love how it minimised the appearance of my pores. A pore minimising primer is something I never bother with, but I think I am going to try mixing and matching my base with the Benefit POREfessional Hydrate in the t-zone and a glowy primer (thinking FutureDew by Glossier) everywhere else.
