There’s a brand new BECCA collection, and quite an unexpected one as far as I’m concerned. It is super innovative and very interesting. Here’s the low down on BECCA Zero No Pigment Virtual Foundation and No Pigment Glass Highlighter. Enjoy!!
So! This is like space age foundation. Well, it is certainly not foundation as we know it. In fact, if you think of it too much as foundation, it could be a case of the Emperor’s new clothes. Think of it more as a makeup and skincare hybrid.
What is BECCA Zero?
There are two products in this collection – the No Pigment Virtual Foundation and the No Pigment Glass Highlighter. They are all about celebrating skin rather than masking it – that ‘your skin but better’ kind of vibe. It is available exclusively here* now.
No Pigment Virtual Foundation
- Free from pigment
- Uses Clear Light Blur Technology to diffuse light around the face
- It works to blur imperfections and smooth the appearance of skin
- Silicone free
- Loaded with glycerin and hyaluronic acid to instantly hydrate
- Instantly cooling on contact
- Controls oil with a transparent matte finish
- Complexion-balancing formula helps you achieve a dewy, glass skin finish – matte and dewy at the same time!!
- Can be worn alone or under foundation
- Works on all skin tones
Ingredients
Water\Aqua\Eau, Sodium Acrylates Crosspolymer-2, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Carbomer, Tromethamine
How to Use it
You simply blend a thin layer on to skin. You can use it straight on to clean skin, but I am all about doing my skincare and SPF first. So far I have only tried it alone, but you can also wear all your normal complexion products on top, which I plan to do and will update with that very soon.
My Review
Clear Light Blur Technology In Action
This is the really interesting part. The Clear Light Blur Technology consists of water-releasing powders which burst on the skin as you apply it. In fact you definitely get the sensation of it changing state on the skin and flooding it with hydration, whilst also mattifying any unwanted shine. It’s quite a unique sensation. You should check out my Instagram Stories where I try it on video, and I explain how it feels. They will be live soon.
The silicone-free, oil-absorbent formula minimises shine, while hyaluronic acid boosts moisture levels and smooths and plumps the skin. I first applied it to just one side of my face and noticed a distinct lifting and contoured effect.
The gel texture of BECCA Zero foundation looks like it contains silicone, but it doesn’t, and you feel that as soon as you work it into the skin. It’s super light and almost indetectable to the touch. It’s perfect for no makeup days when you just want a little something. And of course you get the hydrating benefits of glycerin and hyaluronic acid. Glycerin is one of my fave ingredients, so I am all over it!
BECCA ZERO No Pigment Glass Highlighter
- Multi-use gloss for face and lips
- Delivers a wet, glass skin effect
- Free from pigment, glitter or shimmer
- Use the same Clear Light Blur Technology as Zero foundationto diffuse light
Ingredients
Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer , Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Bht.
My Review
Although it uses similar technology, I feel like this is the least innovative of the two Zero products because it’s basically a clear gloss that you can use on your face and lips. Having said that though, it is a really nice gloss and feels super comfortable applied to the cheekbones.
I recommend swiping it on with the wand and then using fingertips to work it into the skin so that it actually becomes more one with the complexion rather than sitting on top.
It’s a delightful lip gloss and feels super hydrating. I love the juicy effect it instantly imparts the lips with.
Overall, I really like this launch. I actually think it’s a great one for the guys that want that perfected, juicy skin look, without any hint of makeup at all.
It’s a bit like a very soft instagram filter and could come in very useful when you don’t want to wear makeup but aren’t feeling camera ready.
I think it’s hard to show how this really performs with photos, so make sure you check out my Instagram Stories soon. It will bring it to life a bit more, hopefully.

Hi, nice review. Does the highlighter dry enough for hair to not stick to it? Thanks
