Well this is pretty big news for me. The iconic product that initiated my love of  luxury cosmetics 20 years ago (yes 20!!), the mighty Touche Eclat, has now been made into a foundation!! Hallelujah!! Set off the fireworks, bring in the marching band, wipe away the tears of joy! I am not joking!

For many years I wished I could afford to paint the Touche Eclat magic all over my face and now my beauty prayers have been answered!
Keep reading for photos and also a sneak peak at the YSL Autumn Winter 2012-2013 collection.

It is an absolutely beautiful foundation and I think it is really amazing value for money. It will be released in the UK on 9th July 2012 and will retail at £28. Considering that the Touche Eclat pen is £25, it really is a brilliant price.
Lloyd Simmonds, YSL’s Creative Director for Makeup, has developed a staggering 22 shades of the Teint Touche Eclat to cater for all skin tones including black and Asian complexions.
Here he is with myself and Fleur de Force yesterday in Paris, where we travelled to get an exclusive international preview of the foundation that is set to take the beauty world by storm.

The foundation shades are grouped into three families, Rosy Beige, Beige and Golden Beige from lightest to darkest tones. This foundation is the result of TEN years of research and development and here is what they have come up with:
Instead of the traditional powder pigments that all foundation use, YSL have come up with a soft focus gel inside a weightless formula that smooths away imperfections without creating the mask like effect associated with many bases.
YSL has developed the latest generation of ‘fluid light concentrate’ achieved using golden pigments rather than mother-of-pearl particles which maximize the skin’s ability to reflect light. All of this combines to give you UBER GLOW!
This my first try of the Touche Eclat foundation this morning, after hardly any sleep and a hectic couple of days. This just the foundation and absolutely no concealer. I am seriously impressed!! LOVE!!!!!

And it feels absolutely amazing on the skin. It is super comforting and calming thanks to a high percentage of volatile oils and moisturising agents.
And here it is 11 hours later with no touch ups….still glowing.
