The original Libre fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent is all about walking the line between masculinity and femininity. We have a deeper, darker, edgier version of the fragrance and I love it. Here’s the low down on the brand new YSL Libre Eau de Parfum Intense.

First off, the bottle is just stunning. I loved the look of the original, but there’s something about the amber juice inside the new Intense version that makes it so much more decadent and appealing. It looks deeper and richer and really brings to life the direction that this new edition has taken with the fragrance.

The iconic logo of the house of Yves Saint Laurent clasps the bottle, like on the original, but glows even more against the golden liquid. It’s gorgeous.

The Notes – YSL Libre Eau de Parfum Intense

The new version of Libre is a “full-bodied grand floral fragrance boasting a burning-hot character and deep sensuality.” There’s an added Orchid accord which deepens the intensity and gives it a richer, sexier twist.

• Top notes: tangerine, bergamot, lavender
• Heart notes: jasmine sambac, orange blossom, orchid accord
• Base notes: tonka bean, vanilla, amber gris, vetiver

My Review

What I love about this fragrance is that is instantly makes me feel expensive and sexy! I know that sounds like a sweeping statement but let me explain. In terms of sexiness, it isn’t a feeling I can always call on! I sometimes feel a bit ditzy and silly, if you know what I mean?

So, I find fragrance really important for giving me that edge of confidence and making me feel as alluring as I smell! It really has a major impact on how I feel about myself. If I leave the house without a spritz of something sexy, I feel as ill-equipped as if I’d left my phone at home!

There are days when I really need to spray on some sexy from a bottle and the new Libre Intense totally ticks that box. The dry down is so sensual, with the perfect amount of warm and creamy vanilla and tonka bean. It lasts really well on my skin and is super addictive. I just want to keep smelling my wrists.

It’s a big hearted floral that has a cosy vibe but it’s still lively and empowering. It has a softly masculine and earthy edge about it which entirely stops it tipping over into girly, if you know what I mean?

I think this is going to make the most gorgeous Autumn-Winter fragrance. I absolutely love it!
