This is exciting! I have the Essential collection from the brand new VIEVE by Jamie Genevieve makeup range. Most of the review requests have been around the rather stunning VIEVE The Essential Eyeshadow Palette, so I thought I’d start there! It’s gorgeous. Check out my photos and swatches.

I should start by saying that I know everyone wants to see the swatches, but this palette really isn’t about swatches. It is about how the shadows apply and blend. And I have to say first off, the blend factor is incredible. The shades practically blend themselves.

60 Second Eye Look

I grabbed the palette really quickly yesterday because I was due on a zoom, and I literally had 60 seconds to put something on my eyes. Using a fluffy brush in the matte shade Cosy, I blended it all over the lid and into the crease, and it just went to all the right places! I hope that makes sense!

Then I stuck my finger in Karat and Thea shimmers and smudged it over the centre of the lid.

Finally, I couldn’t resist getting Glimmer into my inner corners, and I did that with my finger too. I was finished in less than a minute, and it looked like I had spent fifteen.

This is the result of a major labour of love from the VIEVE team in making these shadows perform. A beautiful swatch is one thing, but can a non-professional make them work effortlessly? The answers here is yes!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I often go a bit wrong with my eye makeup! I dump on too much product, and then end up blending out too far, but with VIEVE The Essential Eyeshadow Palette, it didn’t happen.

I know I have said that this palette isn’t about the swatches, but we want to see them don’t we?! I absolutely love the shade range. The finishes are mostly matte; there are seven easy to blend, pigmented matte shades, two shimmers with fine sparkle, and one shimmer that’s more finely milled (Glimmer, which Jamie said she basically created for her inner corner).

As I said, I used Cosy and all the shimmers (of course I did!!) for my 60 second eye look.
