I only discovered Vichy last year using their Aqualia Thermal Rich Moisturiser, and it soon turned into one of my favourites- being super moisturising and rich, I couldn’t fault it. The Vichy Ideal Body Collection claims to harness the same power and efficacy as the facial range- so I had high expectations for these products. Consisting of a body oil, body balm, body serum – milk and a hand and nail cream, I was excited to try the body range for myself.
The first thing my eyes went to was the Ideal Body Dry Body Oil, something I’ve never tried before as oil sometimes doesn’t mix well with combination skin. Vichy emphasise that the oil should rejuvenate and energise the body and hair and it doesn’t disappoint. The oil instantly gave my skin a boost and made me look that little bit more awake. At the same time, it really gave me a ‘holiday’ feeling as the smell reminds me of sun cream. The oil sank into my skin quickly and didn’t leave me feeling sticky – I was able to get dressed immediately. There is also a shimmering body oil, if you like a little shimmer in your oil for summer.
The body serum-milk and body balm smell equally as nice as the oil; I’ve found the whole range smells fresh and clean whilst giving me a huge craving for a holiday. This is something I personally love when it comes to body products as I feel nice for the rest of the day when surrounded by a scent that I enjoy.
Whilst the balm felt like it took a little longer to sink into my skin, it gave me more of a rich moisturising effect, so is a product I would use in the evening before bed. By contrast, the serum – milk is perfect if you need something that will absorb quickly, but want to moisturise and firm your skin.
The final product was the hand and nail cream, something I’ve been desperate for; my hands have been really dry recently and I’ve been on the lookout for a good moisturising cream. The Vichy product couldn’t have pleased me more- this cream is super moisturising and it really sank into my skin from the first use, leaving not a dry patch in site. It doesn’t leave my hands feeling sticky or as if I have a lot of cream on which is a huge bonus, so I can see myself purchasing this again and again.
Vichy have really outdone themselves with their body range. The packaging feels and looks luxurious, the subtle pink colour with the silver Vichy logo looks elegant, whilst the body oil sits in a lovely glass bottle. It’s definitely worth the price tag and a brand that I can’t recommend enough.
