I have been testing out the new Umberto Giannini Hair Repair Range and it is so good. It’s amazing to have some UG back in my life! It’s 97% natural and packed full of hair repairing proteins. Here’s what you need to know.
Who are Umberto Giannini?
In case you haven’t heard of Umberto Giannini before, I thought I’d give you a quick recap.

How Hair Can Get Damaged
Hair can get damaged really easily, especially when we love to play with it. I get loads of colour done and love to style my hair, and all of that really takes its toll.
Colouring hair actually alters the hair’s natural protein structure and can cause side effects like severe dryness, hair loss and it also decreases your hair’s ability to handle heat styling.
Heat styling and brushing also causes damage but, just as with colour, it doesn’t mean I’m not going to do it! And even if I did nothing to my hair, environmental factors still have a negative effect on the condition of the hair.

My Routine
The new Umberto Giannini Hair Repair Range is perfect for my hair because I have had a lot of colour recently which is never that great for the condition of your hair.
I use the shampoo and conditioner when I wash my hair, and every other week, I do the mask treatment before the wash.
The Urgent Repair Damage Recovery Deep Conditioning Treatment is used on damp hair before shampoo and conditioner. You pop it on mid lengths and ends, leave it for 20 minutes, then rinse and use the Repair shampoo and conditioner. It’s great when you want an extra boost.
I love the shampoo because even though it’s super gentle and made to deeply nourish the hair, one wash is enough to make my scalp and hair feel completely clean. So it’s always a nice quick process and takes minimal commitment.
Because the range is so smoothing, I find that I can rough dry my hair, and still get the look of a blow dry that would usually take more effort.
I tend never to leave my hair wet to dry on its own as there is some evidence that the longer your hair is wet, the more prone to damage it is. Read Air Drying Hair Is More Damaging Than Blow Drying for more info.

Urgent Repair Damage Recovery Deep Conditioning Treatment
This is a great treatment because it’s a pre-wash step and hair just needs to be a bit damp, so you don’t really have to faff about getting in and out of the shower if you don’t want to.
I just wet my hair a little, smooth on Urgent Repair, then wrap my hair up and leave it to work for 20 minutes.
It is rich in protein and really gets to work to deeply nourish, increase hair elasticity and add the shine back in. It’s great for reducing the appearance of split ends because it seals down the cuticle leaving hair super smooth.
When I use this, my hair feels super strong and it just really behave itself. The shine, even on blonde hair, is really noticeable.
Hair Repair Damage Repair Shampoo
I love this shampoo because it gently yet effectively cleans my scalp and hair in just one wash which is great for saving product and time. It doesn’t strip my hair and leaves it feeling super hydrated.
Hair Repair Damage Repair Conditioner
The condition is rich yet light and never weighs my hair down. Even when I don’t use the Urgent Repair Treatment, it makes my hair feel really soft and look smooth and shiny, without leaving any residue behind.
Both the shampoo and conditioner are sulphate, silicone and paraben-free, and 97% natural and 100% vegan.
This trio makes my hair look and feel so smooth that I can get away with a quick rough dry with the hairdryer, and my hair still ends up looking sleek.
