You’ll probably have noticed that I have been trialling the brand new, soon to launch, Tresemme hair system, called Tresemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth. I initially had my hair washed with the shampoo and conditioner and then had the Heat Activated Treatment applied and activated! Read all about that, and the products HERE.
Basically, I think it is absolutely brilliant and it has completely worked for me. Yay! Here is a little photo diary for you. The first 4 days, I didn’t wash or style my hair (save popping the front section back on day 4.

You can read more info on the first four days in my Halfway Update.
I decided to wash it (with the TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth shampoo and conditioner) on the evening of Day 4 to test out how well the heat activated treatment could survive washing and I was so happy and surprised with the results. I blasted it dry roughly with my hair dryer and it dried completely sleek and straight. Then I put a few waves in with my straighteners and the style lasted perfectly all of the following day, until I decided to wash it again.
DAY 5:

I would never usually wash my hair again at this stage, but as people generally do wash their hair several times a week, I thought I should get another wash in to test how smooth the hair would stay after that. Particularly as the Tresemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth system says it will last 3 washes . The answer is…very smooth indeed!

DAY 6

This was simply rough dried with my hair dryer in the fastest way!
And so here I am now on Day 7 and I thought that today, as I had a straight day yesterday, I’d go for a few volumised waves.

DAY 7:

Although I have only washed it twice, I do think that there’s definitely enough staying power in the Tresemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment for another wash, particularly as I had the same smoothness for wash number 2 as wash number 1.

To round it all up I’d say that Tresemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth definitely delivers on it’s promises. It is absolutely perfect for my thick coarse hair and has not only smoothed it out, but also gone a long way towards making it actually feel repaired. I can’t really speak for other hair types, and I’d be interested to see how finer hair types got on, but if you have frizz and end up straightening your hair everyday, then this really could be the answer to your prayers!

TRESemme 7 Day Keratin Smooth System will launch in February 2014. It will probably start to appear in Superdrug in January 2014 and will go nationwide at Boots and supermarkets from February/March 2014.

  • Have you ever had a Brazilian blowout? If so, would you say this system is as effective? I am scheduled for a (very expensive) Brazilian blowout in the coming weeks before I take a trip to a tropical/humid destination, and am wondering if this system could produce the same effects!

  • I am thinking of getting this but I am one who even if I don’t shampoo everyday, I wet my hair when I take a shower. Will it remain straight if I do that and don’t blow dry straight or flat iron again during the week?

  • I have fine blonde hair and it totally works for my flyaways!! Although I have to wash 3 times as it gets limp very quickly but the difference in shine and ease of care is amazing 🙂

  • Does Canada in Calgary carry the Tresemme Brazilian 7 day blow out treatment? And which store carries it?

  • Hi can i use any shampoo and conditioner after the first wash with the 7 day sleek shampoo? Or do I need to do the whole routine every Time I wash to get the results? X

    • they say you should use the whole routine but I think you could get away with using other products. It’s definitely worth a try. I think the main thing is to activate the treatment product. x
