So I wrote a little news post about this new foundation from Too Faced a couple of days ago and now I have have 3 samples in my possession and have been playing, with rather good results. It’s a gorgeous foundation (yay!!) and I am so impressed with the packaging. Here are the swatches and before and after photos of the brand new Too Faced Born This Way foundation.

I am particularly loving the packaging because there was an occasion in the past when I loved one of the Too Faced products but I just felt it was slightly let down by the packaging. It was the Too Faced Sweetheart Beads I think, and I loved it but was just a little put off by the cardboard which took away from what could have been a luxury product.

Since then, the brand’s packaging has come on in leaps and bounds, and I think Too Faced Born This Way really shows a big step up in the luxury packaging game.

It looks and feels expensive right the way from the textured box, to the gold details and the softly frosted glass. Gorgeous!

For the full low down on the formulation, check out my original post HERE, but to recap this is a skincare-makeup hybrid that offers invisible medium-full coverage and uses coconut water, alpine rose and hyaluronic acid to moisturise, brighten and firm.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Swatches
There are 12 shades in total and I have swatches of Vanilla, Light Beige and Caramel:

The texture is really beautiful. It feels creamy and nourishing, yet really light at the same time.
Too Faced Born This Way Before and After Photos
From my samples, I found the best match to be Vanilla. And I am loving it.

I love the way it deals with my redness and it delivers a really even, yet very natural looking finish. You can build up to a high coverage, but you still get to see what looks like natural skin. I didn’t use any concealer at all with this because I didn’t feel I needed it. I just built it up under my eyes and around when nose and it blends so easily with my fingertips. It leaves a softly matte finish.
Love this, and it is very kind to my lines and pores – it seems to blur them away!

Very excited to try this… agree that the packaging is lovely & the coverage looks quite dewy, which I’m always a fan of!

Thanks for the swatches! I haven’t picked this up yet, but I’m trying to figure out what shade. It gives a beautiful coverage on you. Fingers are crossed that I have good results too!
Beautiful pictures and great swatches and review. I’m thinking of purchasing this foundation but trying to colour match myself. What shades do you use in other foundations so I can compare.
Thanks for a great review. Xx
Hi Ree, how would you find this compares to the new ysl touche eclat foundation? I have sensitive skin and usually use Bobbi Brown BB cream but need a bit more coverage for blemishes. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks x
Gosh I love both those foundations! They have similar stay power. The TF is a touch more matte and slightly fuller coverage I think. There’s a bit more glow in the YSL. Both are very natural looking. Hope that helps! xxx
That’s great thank you! Are there any other foundations you’d recommend for sensitive skin, with good but natural coverage? Xx
it’s a tricky question because my skin isn’t sensitive. Vichy is pretty good for sensitive skins and really affordable. I really like the new 3D correction one – you only need the tiniest bit.

Hi Ree! I also read your Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation review and I was wondering if you could compare it with Too Faced Born This Way? 🙂 And what type of brush did you find to be best for these foundations? Thank you in advance!
they are actually really similar I find. I think I might just prefer TF – a tiny bit glowier. I tend to use a buffing brush. Hope this helps x
