At the end of last week I was thrilled to receive a couple of samples of the much anticipated new foundation and latest addition to the Flawless Complexion collection from Tom Ford.

Created to sit between the light coverage of the liquid foundation, and the heavier coverage of the stick, Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation SPF15 has me hooked already. It is a truly beautiful foundation and just the coverage I was hoping for.

I am pretty obsessed with the packaging. Ok. I am totally obsessed with the packaging! It is one of those twist up dispensers that appear as if by magic – the same design that is used in the Tom Ford skincare.

Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation SPF15 Review – The Shades

Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation SPF15 comes in:

  • Cream
  • Ivory
  • Fawn
  • Bisque
  • Natural
  • Sable
  • Rosewood
  • Tawny
  • Caramel
  • Sienna
  • Almond
  • Chestnut
  • Buff
  • Linen
  • Beige

I definitely think you will need to check out the shades on counter because, from what I can gather, they don’t all correspond to the shades in the other 2 foundation formats. I have 2 of the shades to show you.

I actually ended up using a mix of these 2 when it came to applying it. I could probably get away with either though because it blends so nicely.

Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation – The Formula

As I said, this foundation is positioned between the original liquid and the stick formats and offer medium to full coverage that is long-wearing and  humidity resistant with a natural velvety skin finish. The skincare ingredients in it (the Tom Ford Infusing Complex) work to hydrate, even out the skin tone and diminish lines, whilst the pigments create ‘a flawless, supple and poreless canvas’.

I think supple is a great way to describe it. It has the grip it needs to be long-wearing but it feels light and flexible on the skin making it really comfortable to wear. It contains SPF15.

Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation Before & After Photos

As I said, I used a mix of Fawn & Rosewood because I was having a play, but I need to do further investigation into which one is actually my shade. I have a counter visit coming up soon so will find out then I think. I struggle alone sometimes!

It instantly took down the redness in my skin, evened out my pigmentation and did wonders on the appearance of my pore size. Here it is with a light dusting of powder and my first play with the Tom Ford Contouring Cheek Color Duo in 02 Stroked. I’ll have a post on that soon – it is beautiful!

I am really loving what the foundation does to my skin and it lasted really well until I took it up before bed. For anyone that needs a closer look at its work on fine lines and pores, here’s a close up. I had also used Nude Dip on my eyes (mascara is Lancome Grandiose).

I’m loving it. It offers my perfect amount of coverage and is buildable too for when I want a more made-up look.

Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation SPF15 is available now at Selfridges for £62. There’s little point in discussing how expensive it is. This makeup isn’t really designed for people who are sensible when it comes to their beauty budgets! As I said, if you’re thinking about investing, I’d definitely recommend going to a counter for a colour match.

  1. Hi there! I have been reading your blog for a while, mainly because you review high end products. I really like your posts but sometimes I miss seeing some critique on the products. When we are talking about expensive products like this I would really like to know if there might be any downfalls or something that might be better etc…. Personally I am more judgmental as the price goes up 😉

But anyways… Thanks for a good blog 😉

  2. You look great with this foundation, but in the summer I need a higher SPF than 15 in America. I would have to wear a high SPF sunscreen underneath if I wore this product.

    1. I never rely on SPF in foundation as I don’t think you can apply enough. I always use a separate sunscreen underneath to ensure I am fully protected xx

  3. Hi Ree. I have this foundation already ordered and it should be here early this week. I can’t wait! May I ask which you liked better – the Tom Ford or the YSL Fusion? I have combo skin and large pores so I’m hoping I chose correctly with the TF. 🙂

    1. I have the same skin type and I think I prefer the feel of the Tom Ford as it feels more nourishing but has matte luminous finish. It is a creamier formula whereas YSL is thinner and more liquidy. I love them both though so it is a tough one!! xx

      1. Oooh wonderful, I think I chose the right one then. All the pictures I’ve seen of this is just beautiful. $80 is alot but if it helps covers my pores, which I’ve read it does, then it’s worth the money, LOL!

  4. Hello Ree, I would really love to buy this foundation, but I am based in Australia, so I cannot get an exact colour match (not hitting our counters for months still!).
Shade 52 in Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum suit me nicely, so I am tossing up between Fawn and Bare Beige in this TF Traceless Perfecting Foundation. Which do you think I should go for? TIA <3
