I literally could not wait to get my hands on the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Foundation! This was partially for selfish reasons because I just wanted it on my face, but also because I have had so many requests for a review. Well I have managed to get some samples, and so everyone is happy!! Yay. Here’s what you need to know!

So I should get straight to the fact that this is a pretty pricey foundation! And when I say pretty pricey, I actually mean very pricey. It is £112 for 30ml. It comes in the most stunning bottle, and I’m pleased to say, it looks really lovely on my skin, but that’s quite the investment!

Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Foundation Swatches
I have two shades to show you – Porcelain and Fawn:

I usually use shade Bone in the Traceless Stick (another foundation I adore) but these were the only two shades available and I have plumped for Porcelain which is working well for me right now.

The Porcelain shade is slightly a little cool for me, but it really works with the rest of my makeup once it is warmed up a bit with bronze, as you’ll see below.
My Review
One of the first things that made me want this foundation was the SPF50. I know that SPF in your foundation isn’t as good as applying an SPF product directly to your skin, but it definitely helps. This formula uses a combination of physical and chemical sunscreen which I believe gives the best protection.

The packaging is gorgeous and super luxurious. I love the mahogany and gold sides, and the windows show you the shade of the product inside.

I love the finish of this on my skin and I don’t feel the need to set it, which always makes me happy. I’ve been testing it all week and I am really happy with it – it lasts pretty much all day on my skin. I am super relieved about this because for £112, you really do need it to be good.
Actually, think I love this more than my Surratt Dew Drop because it gives the skin that beautiful juicy radiance, but is more pigmented so covers more of my redness and pigmentation. I need to ponder on that a bit more, but I think this one could be winning.
It also give a beautiful ‘poreless’ effect and just makes my complexion look really harmonious.
