Tom Ford Lip Color Matte Review & Swatches

OK I am still very excited about this! Earlier in the week I told you about the Tom Ford Holiday 2014 collection which includes the brand new Tom Ford Lip Color Matte and also 2 new shades of Limited Edition Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes. Today I am showing the matte lipsticks. I have 2 shades right now for you, First Time and Black Dahlia.

Well there’s nothing sweeter than the feel of a Tom Ford lipstick in your hand! The sound it makes when you close it, is like the equivalent of the clunk you hear when you close the door of an expensive car. It is the sound of luxury. It probably sounds ridiculous, but it means a lot to me!

And I think everyone has been waiting for a matte lipstick from Tom Ford! These look so good I literally want to eat them (yes, I have issues!).

I am so excited about these 2 shades – First Time and Black Dahlia – because I think they are the 2 limited edition shades in the collection. And we all know that the combination of ‘Tom Ford’ and ‘Limited Edition’ anything means instant sellout!

Tom Ford Lip Color Matte – First Time Swatch

First Time is a beautiful pinky nude – so easy to wear and really flattering. And what a provocative name – it suggests a sexy innocence that really embodies the shade perfectly. I actually feel like I’d never need another nude lipstick again!! Hooked already!

Tom Ford Lip Color Matte – Black Dahlia

Wow! This one is a statement maker! Black Dahlia packs a serious punch of pigment. It’s a deep and dark blackened wine shade. It’s my dream to be able to wear a lipstick like this. Let’s See!!

I love this shade but I think you have to have perfectly buffed lips and a more perfect lip line than I have for this one. I think lip liner and some very good prep will come in handy for Black Dahlia. It is really beautiful, so totally worth it.

The formula is beautiful to apply – it glides on and leaves a soft, cushiony, velvety finish that feels nourishing and creamy, not drying at all. I haven’t had a chance to test the wear time yet, but I am wearing First Time today and will update the post with my observations.
