I am a great fan of shopping locally and supporting local small businesses, The Soap Kitchen fits that bill. Formed in 2000 they have established themselves as a leading manufacturer and ingredient stockist in the soap, toiletry and candle making crafts. They are a family owned company which made the leap in 2014 from a shop in Torrington to a 7500sq ft warehouse in Bideford, Devon. As we spend a lot of time in the West Country I was keen to show my support.

The product that sparked my interest was The Soap Kitchen Foaming Wash, using pure and natural ingredients, this wash doubles up as a hand wash, facial wash or a body wash in the shower or poured into a running bath. There is an enticing range of scents, each one made of complementary fragrances. I opted to try the Clementine and Prosecco.

The first thing I will tell you is WOW! The fragrance hits you as soon as you open the lid, but in a really nice way. There is nothing synthetic or fake about the scent, it smells of gorgeous fresh clementines, with a hint of something in the background. As soon as I smelt it I thought I just had to smell some of the other fragrances on offer.

I tried this product in the bath first, the bottle was quite stiff so the product came out fairly slowly, I poured it under running water and watched the bubbles. I only used a small amount and it foamed really nicely, a little definitely went a long way! The bubbles stayed in the bath for the entire duration (and I like long baths) not disappearing like cheaper bubble baths often do. The scent fragranced the bathroom too so it was a lovely sensory experience.

Since then I have tried the Foaming Wash as a hand wash and a shower gel and it performed well each time, the smell also lingers on the skin for a while afterwards, which is really not a problem when it smells so nice. I am definitely a fan and I’m looking forward to trying some of the other scents available, these include:
Pure and Natural
Rose Geranium
Peony and Pomegranate
Orange and Neroli
Gooseberry and Elderflower
Lavender and Snowberry
Lavender Fields
Lime Zest
