The highly anticipated The Ordinary Suncare range has launched its first two products!! It seems that getting the all important regulatory approval has held things up slightly for the full range but more is definitely on the way. In a world where Suncare is a comparatively expensive commodity considering how vital it is to our health and well-being, this latest range expansion from The Ordinary could be considered as life changing.

As someone who burns no sooner than looking at the sun, I have always struggled with the high price points of good quality suncare. There have been times when I have thought it should be available as an NHS prescription. Having seen what skin cancer looks like first hand, surely there are many of us that need help with being able to have it as a staple item? Well now The Ordinary is doing just that, and thank goodness they are.

The Deciem instagram update from founder Brandon really got me thinking because it said something that really resonated with me.

Having been burnt over and over again as a child, because I desperately wanted to be someone that tanned and also is was in a time when our knowledge of the damaging elements the UVA & UVB exposure wasn’t as full as it is now, I have grown to positively fear the sun. It has become an obsession. I had almost forgotten that we literally couldn’t survive without it! So thank you Brandon for the gentle reminder!

The Ordinary Suncare Range

I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try The Ordinary Suncare formulations just yet, but it should be pretty soon and I’ll update you as soon as I can. I’m extremely confident, however, that they’ll be brilliant. Here’s what’s coming:

• Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants 
• Mixed UV Filters SPF 50 + NMF
• Invisible UV Filters SPF 35 with Antioxidants
• Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 + Oil Control

The Antioxidants inclusion is really important. Using these is really half the battle when it comes to defending your skin against the environment.
