What is Beta Glucan in Skincare?
Beta-Glucan is a powerful humectant with the ability to deeply hydrate the skin. It soothes and calms, whilst plumping fine lines and helps to protect the skin’s barrier.
It also has antioxidant properties and there have been tests carried out that show that Beta-Glucan is 20% more hydrating than HA at the same concentration.
My Review of The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan
I think that this moisturiser will go down really well for anyone looking for a lighter texture for the summer months, and specifically for combination and oily skin types.
Although I love rich textures, like the luxurious formulation of The Ordinary’s most nourishing cream, Natural Moisturizing Factors + Phytoceramides, this super light gel really does do a fantastic hydration job.
It is a clear, very lightweight gel moisturiser that melts into the skin very quickly and is like a big drink of water for the skin. It will be amazing on warm days when I want something super light but still in need of lots of hydration.
The new launch now means that The Ordinary have a moisturiser for all skin types and needs. This one is ideal for oily skins, the Phytoceramides version is great for dry skin, and the original Natural Moisturizing Factors is the one for normal to combination skin.
