I am rather pleased because all the money I have spent at Sephora has paid me back with a lovely Tarte VIB 500 point present. I love foundation and so even though there are quite a few exciting goodies in my pack, it was the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation that drew me in!

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation Features

Now I have never tried a liquid foundation from Tarte before. I tested the Amazonian Clay powder foundation, and although I liked it, I’m a liquid girl through and through.

  • Infused with tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea complex
  • Includes a non-chemical SPF 15 sunscreen
  • 20 percent water to quench dry skin

I chose Light Neutral to test.

It it a thin, liquidy foundation, similar in texture to the MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation but not quite as glowy in my opinion. I think the coverage is similar too – it promises to be full coverage but I would say, like the MAC, it is sheer to medium and buildable.

I think the Light Neutral is a tiny bit too warm for me so it’s less pleasing. I might like it more if I had a better colour match.

It is good on enlarged pores and fine lines and feels lovely and light on the skin. I don’t think I will be purchasing it though because if my foundation is going to have SPF in it, then I prefer it to be higher than SPF15, plus I like things a little glowier.

If you fancy giving it a go you can order it online HERE. If you’re looking for a light-feel foundation and you like a bit more glow and a higher SPF then I fully recommend Waterweight by MAC. You can order that online HERE.
