Oh my! I am so excited about this! This afternoon I received a very precious sample of the brand new October launch from Sunday Riley and it is one hell of a cleansing balm! Tonight we are expecting a blue moon and to prepare (read: make it beauty relevant), I am trying out the Sunday Riley Blue Moon Tranquility Cleansing Balm. Yay!

This is such an early sample (almost as rare as an actual blue moon!) that even though I have had to promptly reapply my makeup as I am off out for my birthday-eve meal, I literally could not put off trying this until I get home tonight! How would I have relaxed not knowing what it was like?! And now I get to use it twice today! I am expecting seriously beautiful skin for my birthday. Best present ever?!

OK. Let me tell you, this stuff smells incredible. Before I even touched it, it had me closing my eyes and inhaling deeply. This is definitely how you should be feeling on a blue moon no?! And the fact that it’s blue in colour, well it makes it fun doesn’t it? I’m all about the fun.
I have to confess, I haven’t looked after my skin as much as I usually do this past month as life has gotten in the way to quite a large degree. The first touch of this on my skin really felt so healing and restorative. It literally melts on to the skin in the most sublime way allowing the most luxurious of massages. It just feels so good – its beautiful silky loveliness just glides over the skin, lifting up impurities and makeup gently yet deeply.

I added a little warm water to emulsify and then gently removed it with muslin cloth. My skin was super clean, soft and hydrated and visibly beautified. I didn’t feel the need to race for serum as I often do. My skin felt happy just like that. I haven’t really had happy skin for about a month!
So I can give you a fuller report I then went straight into mask mode. The Sunday Riley Blue Moon Tranquility Cleansing Balm also doubles up as a hydrating mask so I spread a very thin layer over my cleansed face and left it for 10 minutes. I didn’t use a cloth this time, I just rinsed it clean away.

I actually didn’t want to take it off, but I had to as I was going out. Thoughts of cancelling my birthday-eve dinner flickered through my brain – what a ridiculous person I am!! When I did remove it, my skin was even softer, ever smoother and was simply radiant. Job done! One month of skin abuse addressed with 15 minutes of Sunday Riley Blue Moon. You can’t say fairer than that. I nearly made a ‘once in a blue moon’ pun but stopped myself! Well sort of…
And to mark tonight’s blue moon, Sunday got together with the owner of the Psychic Sisters, Jayne Wallace and I have my very own reading and some beautiful healing crystals.

My bare complexion is glowing and now it’s for me to believe in my bright future. I hope so! Thank you Sunday and Jayne!
Sunday Riley Blue Moon Tranquility Cleansing Balm launches in October 2015 at Space NK.. It is £48. We all know Sunday Riley is expensive but I have never heard anyone say it is overpriced. It’s such a beautiful brand and you certainly get what you pay for.
