St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted Review
St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted Review

I’ve let the whole fake tan thing pass me by, mostly because I’m lazy and it just seems a lot of effort. But what I have been doing for a few years now, from April to late September (arm and leg baring season!) is substituting my usual body lotion for a gradual tan. For the most part these have been good, turning my winter white limbs to a more acceptable, tinted colour. The problem I find though with these lotions is because they are normal body lotion colour, you can’t really see where you have missed when you are applying. And unfortunately this doesn’t become apparent until the lotion has started to develop over a week or so and then you’re left with dark brown ankles!

I’m very pleased to say this issue has now been solved thanks to the St Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Tinted Body Lotion. Everyone has heard of St Tropez -they are synonymous with fake tanning products, and now to add to their professional, tried and trusted range, is the gradual tan.

There are so many things to love about this product. The first is that it is tinted, so not only can you see where you are applying the lotion but it immediately gives your skin an instant colour, a subtle but definite glow. The lotion also contains cosmetic powders to blur the skin’s appearance and help minimise any imperfections. I still have some mosquito bite scars from my holiday last September, which I am now quite conscious about, but this gradual lotion masked them so well.

St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted Review – Consistency

The other thing I love, and this is key for me, is that there is no fake tan smell at all from this. When I’ve used other gradual tans in the past, the smell as the lotion developed was really strong. The St Tropez gradual lotion has no such smell and the lotion has a really nice, subtle fresh scent.

The consistency of this lotion is really helpful as well. What I mean by that is that it comes out like a lotion but the consistency is more gel like, which means it applies smoothly, with no running or accidental flicking on to the carpet!

This lotion is super hydrating too. It feels comfortable when applied and my skin feels really nourished.

I’ve been applying the gradual tan for only 5 days and I’m really pleased with the results. In proper product testing conditions, I have only been applying this to one of my legs and as you can see from the (unfiltered) photo, this has given a lovely glow. After only 5 days.

  • Wouldn’t it be less effort to apply a fake tan lotion once every 5 days than this every single day for 5 days? Just a thought ☺️

    • a lot of people apply body moisturiser every day anyway, so it’s no extra effort if you think about it like that. x
