Foundations are up there with my most favourite makeup products ever and I absolutely love trying out new ones. I have been testing the brand new Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation. Here’s the low down.
So this is described as an All Day Liquid to Powder Foundation which I love the idea of because I don’t often like using a powder but I also hate shine.
Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation Features
- Shine-Bloc 12 hr Longwear technology
- Flawless coverage with no cakiness
- Super-Blur powders for soft focus
- Conceals pores and fine lines
- Covers redness
- Keeps shine at bay
- Smooth matte finish
- Full coverage
- Easy to blend
- 4 shades
Now I do love a full coverage foundation. Skin flawlessness is an obsession for me and I love now that you can get full coverage products that still look like skin. I got on really well with this foundation. Although it’s a matte finish, it isn’t flat matte and still allows the skin’s natural radiance to shine through.

If I was going to compare this to a high end foundation, I think it would be Too Faced Born This Way which I absolutely adore. It offers high coverage that is easy to blend yet still looks like skin, and it lasts really well.
Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation evens out my skin tone really fast – it covers redness, blurs out enlarged pores and really softens the lines around my eyes. I didn’t bother setting it with a powder and didn’t regret it as it lasted really well all evening without any shine coming through. I think it looks good in photos too.
I think it’s a bit of a shame that there are only 4 shades but luckily the lightest one, Fair Enough, matched my skin tone very well.
It’s a lovely foundation and a good price. Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation is £12. It will be available exclusively at Boots.

Lovely post! Am very interested in this recent trend of full coverage foundation. Just wonder how you’d compare this with the bourjois air mat foundation you recently reviewed?
This is one if more creamy and liquidy I think, which I love, and I think the Bourjois has a thicker, denser consistency. I think perhaps Bourjois is slightly higher coverage and sticks instantly to the skin more which means it probably lasts a bit longer than this, but makes it a tiny bit harder to blend. I also think the Bourjois is slightly more matte whereas the S&G has a more luminous finish. Also I prefer the colour match of this one as I think I don’t have exactly the right shade in Bourjois.
Hope that helps – it probably sounds like nonsense!! xxx
Thank you for the detailed explanation -that’s really helpful. Sounds like I might prefer the S&G one too. Many thanks again, much appreciated.
pleasure!! X
