I have been playing around with the brand new palette from Smashbox which is a mix of shimmer and matte neutrals, and it is rather a nice little number.

Along the top there are 7 shimmer shades, and along the bottom, 7 matte shades, all the way from nudes and highlights, to browns and blacks. Here’s a closer look:

The Smashbox Full Exposure palette shimmer shadows are long-wear, crease resistant formulas and with the exception of the greeny one towards the darker end, they are soft, smooth and densely pigmented. That one is slightly harder and less pigmented.
The matte shades, which are my favourites, are totally gorgeous – really smooth and creamy and very blendable. They are the star of this show for me.
Here are the swatches – shimmer first, then the mattes:

These are really light swatches, I didn’t work too hard on layering the shades up, so you can see what they are like. And here’s the quick daytime look I did with a mixture of the mattes and shimmers:

It’s lovely to work with and I am looking forward to going really smoky. I love the fact that there are some fab warm and cool options. The double ended brush is really good too – one end for matte and the other for shimmer. The palette comes with an excellent guide to creating different looks for your eye shape and also a mini Smashbox Full Exposure mascara.
The Smashbox Full Exposure Palette is out now at Boots (although they are just waiting for more online stock). It costs £36.

  1. I splurged and bough this on a whim one day but I absolutely do not regret it. Ive gotten so much use of it already. Not too mention that brush is just fab!
