Here’s another guest review from Stephanie May and she has been trialling the Silver Serum antibacterial spot treatment which tackles the relationship between bacteria and spots in quite a different way.
Read on to find out more about the product and how she got on.

Silver Serum Formulation
Silver Serum works on the principles of good and bad bacteria. Bad bacteria causes acne, spots and infection, but good bacteria is actually beneficial to the balance of skin.
In response to this principle, Silver Serum has been formulated to be a ‘smart’ anti-bacterial skin treatment. It contains a form of silver called MicroSilver that targets and eradicates bad skin bacteria without disturbing the good bacteria the skin needs. Without good bacteria, skin becomes very dry and flaky, which is something that we always experience with traditional spot treatments that kill all the bacteria.
Silver Serum is designed to remain active on the skin for 8 hours once applied, in order to guard against the growth of spot-causing bad bacteria.
Silver Serum – the trial
Stephanie May:
“If you’re looking for a new way to tackle acne or breakouts you need to take a look at Silver Serum by Skin Shop. It contains an antibacterial silver ingredient to kill the blemish-causing ‘nasty’ bacteria and promotes ‘good’ bacteria on the skin. Skin Shop say ‘good’ bacteria is key to healthy skin.
Silver Serum is gentle and creamy and doesn’t dry the skin out like some spot treatments I’ve tried in the past.

After a few weeks of once a day use, I’m still getting the odd small blemish here and there but I haven’t had a full breakout and best of all, my friends have been commenting that my skin’s been looking really good!
Silver serum isn’t a miracle cure but it’s made my skin clearer and is well worth £12.95 for 50ml.
Silver Serum is free from perfume, parabens MI and SLS, find it at www.skinshop.co.uk.

I’m 22 and have had acne for so long. I’ve spent thousands of pounds on treatments and skincare but I’m yet to find that product that works at a reasonable price. I may have to try this. Great blog 🙂
Thank you. You can always tweet Steph with questions – her twitter is linked at the top xx
I’ve had acne for 50yrs and tried everything, silver serum has done the trick I now have the odd spot but no angry spots or painful spots anymore, you have to be patient and use it for at least a month, but trust me it works and you can put it on under foundation, makes your skin feel smooth. I’m 69 yrs old, no more teenage acne for me hey!
Congratulations. So pleased you have found something that works for you! xxx
How much in your experience would you apply and roughly how long would a single tube last you?
Thank you and glad your acne has finally clearer up.
Hi Stephanie, I hope you don’t mind to share with me the progress of this product. may I also ask what kind of skin condition do you have and do you apply the entire face and does it benefit your skin which are clear from acne/blemish.
TQ

Hi Linda,
I have adult acne, it’s mainly on the lower half of my face. I would usually only apply acne treatments in the area of concern as they can be drying (I also have anti-aging concerns so I need all the moisture I can get!) but I apply this serum all over my face as it’s so nice and creamy.
I have continued to use the serum and my skin is noticeably clearer. This product has not completely cleared up my skin, but I am very happy with the continued results!
TQ’s for sharing.
wouldlike to know if this product suitable for 15yr olds
I am not sure. But there’s an ask a question facility on the website which should hopefully help http://www.skinshop.co.uk/silver-serum
