Plenaire Rose Jelly Gentle Makeup Remover

I have been testing out quite a few new products from UK brand Plenaire Skincare and absolutely loving it! There’s the gorgeous Rose Jelly Cleanser, the Tripler and the Skin Frosting Mask. Here’s what you need to know.

What is Plenaire Skincare?

UK brand Plenaire is all about a minimalist approach to skincare. The word Plenaire is French for ‘in the open air’ and aims to capture the brand’s laid-back ethos that would be particularly appealing to the younger customer and the needs of younger skin.

Having said that, the collection includes some absolutely brilliant staples that fit into any skincare regime. Obviously I am more focussed on anti-ageing, but I still need an effective yet gentle cleanser. Cue Rose Jelly!

Alongside beautiful formulas is a true commitment to sustainability, in terms of ingredients and packaging. All the packaging is fully recyclable, BPA-free, and the cartons are biodegradable. It’s all very lovely – can you tell I’m in love? I have three favourite products which I will focus on in this post.

Rose Jelly Gentle Makeup Remover Review

This cleanser is absolutely delicious. I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I get excited every time I use it. It gently reminds me of Turkish Delight in a very subtle way, and cleansing with this is like giving my skin a hug.

It is super gentle but very effective at melting down makeup and SPF and leaves my skin so happy. The texture is gorgeous. It’s an oil gel that melts into the skin in the silkiest, softest way, dissolving all the makeup and dirt. It’s a joy.

I apply it on to dry skin for the initial cleanse, then splash in a bit of water to turn it into a lovely rosy milk.

The formula uses distilled rosewater and has glycerine which is one of my ultimate ingredients for skin conditioning. It leaves my skin perfectly clean, totally soothed and really comfortable. It’s a dream.

Plenaire Tripler 3in1 Exfoliating Clay Review

This is such a lovely clay mask that’s super gentle and pretty multi-tasking. You apply it as a thick clay mask, and leave it on for 10 minutes to gently detoxify the skin. The French Clay formula is rich in minerals which treat and purify the skin while you relax.

Once the time is up, you add a bit of water and gently the massage it over the skin. This is when the fine particles of natural blackcurrant seeds get to work to softly decongest and balance. When you rinse it away, the skin is super smooth, calm and glowing.

It doesn’t leave that stripped feeling that some clay masks can. Fab!

Plenaire Skin Frosting Deeply Hydrating Mask Review

So this was the product that made me want to try Plenaire. I am so seduced by this product name!

Plenaire Skin Frosting Hydrating Mask

Skin Frosting is a luxuriously moisturising mask that feels so good on the skin. I love to use it after the Tripler and preferably whilst I am soaking in the bath on a Sunday afternoon.

It has a strange texture – almost a bit bobbly as you apply it, but while I smooth it over the skin, it melts into a creamy soft texture. It feels thick and very emollient, and looks glossy on the skin as you wear it.

It uses raw coconut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, and camellia oil to nourish and hydrate the skin. I leave it on for as long as I fancy and then use a damp cloth to remove excess but I’m careful not to take it all off. It makes my skin look plump, juicy and happy.

By the way, if you’re my age or anywhere near pay no attention to the young models on the Plennaire website. Because, while these product aren’t anti-ageing, they are perfectly good for skin health of all ages. I feel like they could definitely do with an older face in their promotional stuff. That is really my only complaint!

Plenaire Skincare - Droplet & Violet Paste

The other products include the Violet Paste which is an interesting spot treatment and not for my skin type (maybe similar to Kate Somerville’s EradiKate?) and a light gel moisturiser called Droplet. I haven’t really tested this either as I like something richer with more anti-aging actives when it comes to moisturiser.

They also have a new product coming soon called the Daily Airy Self Foaming Cleanser. I’ll try and find out more about that soon.
