A brand new anti-ageing skincare range from Kate Somerville is a big deal in the beauty industry, and I have been testing out all four components. Here’s what you need to know about the Kate Somerville KateCeuticals collection which includes a serum, an eye cream, a moisturiser with the new addition of the Resurfacing Overnight Peel.
What is Kate Somerville KateCeuticals?
This is a lovely concise collection created to address the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I love Kate Somerville skincare, and as fine lines and wrinkles are one of my primary concerns, it really is a collection for me.
The key ingredient theme for the whole collection is Peptides and these are Kate’s favourites ingredients and technologies for addressing the signs of ageing. I am a huge fan of the Peptide K8 Power Cream*, so I knew I’d love this range.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids which are the building blocks of proteins. If you apply peptides to your skin, you stimulate the natural production of the skin’s most well-known protein, collagen. As collagen production naturally decreases as well age, it’s the ideal plan of action if you want to keep wrinkles at bay.
What products are in the Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Collection?
There are three products in this new range:
The full range was tested on a group of people aged 30 to 60. Hydration levels, elasticity, and trans-epidermal water loss were measured. I’ll includes highlights of these results when I talk about each products.
Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Firming Serum
This is a clinic-grade serum that uses:
- Tri-Peptide complex to firm
- Hyaluronic Acid to intensely hydrate
- Nasturtium Flower to plump
- Pea Extract to boost radiance
Trials have seen the Firming Serum deliver a smoother skin texture and improved firmness in two weeks. The HA plumps and smooths, while the Peptides boost collagen to increase firmness and elasticity with brilliant results for both fine lines and deeper wrinkles.
Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Total Repair Cream
If you are a fan of Peptide K8, this is definitely one to look at. This cream is inspired by the top age repair facial at Kate’s clinic. It uses:

- Advanced Moisture Complex delivers essential moisture replenishment
- Hyaluronic Acid & Squalane replenish dullness & dryness

Kate Somerville Kateceuticals Total Repair Cream vs Peptide K8 Power Cream
How is this different from Peptide K8?
Kate says that her original Peptide K8 Power Cream was the inspiration for KateCeuticals Total Repair Cream and they both focus on their Ceramide-Infused Peptide complex. If you love that one already, you may want to know what the difference is.
Well I think that the short answer is that the new Peptide Cream is more moisturising and hydrating. The original is a completely different formula and has a different medley of peptides, and it doesn’t have squalane in it.
Kate says, if you are on the dry side then the new Total Repair Cream will be your favourite. However, if you are oily, you may prefer to stick with Peptide K8.
Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Lifting Eye Cream
I am a huge believer in using a separate eye cream, so this is a product I really paid attention to. This one is pretty special because it uses technologies that work to relax the look of wrinkles.
It’s an excellent allrounder because it is also formulated to reduce under eye puffiness, visibly diminish dark circles and plump skin around eyes. Yay!
It uses:
- Revolutionary Peptide Complex relaxes the look of wrinkles
- Red & Brown Algae diminish dark circles and under eye puffiness
- Vitamin C firms and brightens
Test have shown that in improvement in crows feet can be seen after one use.
Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Resurfacing Overnight Peel
This is one of my absolute favourite products and the newest addition to the range.

My Review
I have to say, I think the Eye Cream is my favourite product from the Kate Somerville KateCeuticals collection because it really does instantly smooth and illuminate the whole eye area. It is amazing under makeup and I have been using it most days for a few weeks. It provides long lasting hydration which is vital for me because this is the area I find shows the lines and wrinkles more as my skin dries out over the course of a day.
If you are looking for an eye cream to tackle the full range of skin concerns for that area, then this will be an ally. It works on dehydration, puffiness, lines and dark circles. It is rich but not heavy and sinks in effortlessly.
The Firming Serum is also excellent and has a beautiful texture. I like to leave it for about 10 minutes before applying moisturiser to really let it do its work. It is really hydrating and comfortable on the skin. I haven’t been using it every day, but I do feel it has contributed to a nice bounce in my skin.
The Total Repair Cream is absolutely gorgeous and I think I love it even more than my Peptide K8 Powder Cream as it just that bit more moisturising and hydrating. I have been testing a new Retinol Night Serum from Omorivicza*, and it is absolutely perfect after that to make sure the barrier is protected and supported.
If you are looking for a brilliant moisturiser that’s good enough to tackle dry skin, and also offers a host of anti-aging benefits, this is definitely one to look at.
The KateCeuticals Resurfacing Overnight Peel is absolutely brilliant. I apply a thin layer a couple of nights a week and then use ExfoliKate the following morning. The overnight peel rapidly boost cell renewal, and then when I exfoliate the next morning, I get major glow.
