Now. You can use the Percy & Reed Wonder Balm on wet hair, which I did, and it promises to deliver moisture, shine, smoothness, definition, softness, light hold high humidity protection and manageability. It aims to prime your hair for styling and enable to best results.
I popped a few pumps of the gel-cream through the lengths and ends of my damp hair, gave it a light blast with the hairdryer and then let it dry naturally (ran out of time!). It looked like this!

It was very very shiny, extremely soft and super smooth, considering that I barely blasted it with the dryer, let alone actually styled it. I don’t usually like my hair straight too much but I really liked it like this, and the following day I added a touch to the dry ends to add a bit of texture and definition.
However I felt that this didn’t really test out the Wonder Balm’s ability as a primer so I decided to style it later on in the day. It is designed to work as a base to layer other products on top of, so I misted through the L’Oreal Elnett Heat Styling Spray for curls and popped in my BaByliss Heated Rollers. When they were fully cool I removed them, brushed it through and it my hair looked like this:

I noticed that my hair was rather a lot smoother than it normally would be. To add a bit more separation and definition, I rubbed a bit more of the Percy & Reed Wonder Balm between my palms and then pulled it through the lengths and ends of the hair.

I absolutely loved the effect of this.

It added an extra bit of gloss and really helped to define the shape around my face and the ends, whilst practically eradicating any frizz and flyaways (look at the before pic again!). This product is quite a multi-tasker, although I did have to put the red lipstick on myself! The major bonus is that it doesn’t weigh the hair down at all, and considering I have now applied it 3 times in 2 days, you really can’t feel it, apart from the hair being smooth and hydrated.
There’s also a style guide in the box with lots of other ways to use it, so I shall be invesitgating that very soon! I’ll update you soon with launch date and price info, but it’s a big thumbs up from me! I told you Percy & Reed know what they are doing!!

  • I am in love with Percy & Reed No Oil Oil, it’s amazing! I will be checking this out too, thanks for the review! 🙂

  • I can’t say as I’m a fan at all. I tried the wonder balm as it was free with a magazine and sounded great, but it left my hair very sticky and impossible to comb through. It made it worse than when I started. My hair is normally fine and dry, so I thought this would do the trick. I used it on damp hair, and only a small amount – and it was a disaster. Each to their own. Everyone has different hair and it obviously suits some, but I wouldn’t recommend the Wonder Balm at all

    • Oh no – that’s a shame. I’m nearly through my tube xx
