It has been a while since I have written a fragrance review but I have fallen in love with the new Penhaligon’s Constantinople scent and I just had to write about it! Here’s what you need to know.
What is Penhaligon’s Constantinople?

Penhaligon’s new Constantinople fragrance is a fairly new addition to the Trade Routes collection.
“Opulent iris, borne upon the Bosphorus, mingles with earthy moss along the shore. Then, night falls. A warm rush of vanilla. Sensual yet defiant, two worlds entwined.”
Penhaligon’s Constantinople Fragrance Notes
The scent uses some of my favourite notes!
- Top notes: pink pepper essence, frozen lavender, geranium essence
- Heart notes: iris concrete extract, rose accord, cypriol DM
- Base notes: vanilla, patchouli essence, moss
My Review
For me, Penhaligon’s Constantinople is like a more wearable, less punchy version of Halfetti Leather. In fact, I discovered it during a fragrance profiling session in store where I explained that I do like Halfetti but it’s just a bit too much for me.
Constantinople is a softer, more subtly sensual fragrance that I find lasts on my skin so well and gets me lots of compliments. It is warm and softly sweet, and I think it’s the perfect fragrance to take me through the colder months.
As well as on my skin, I love how it smells on my clothes, and on fabric, it just lasts and lasts. The vanilla is soft and warm without being over-powering or too sweet.
Although it is designed as a unisex fragrance, I like that it feels very feminine on me. It does have an earthiness that I love, which is down to the composition’s patchouli and moss.
I love that it is sweet and sexy but balanced beautifully by all the earthy tones with a touch of spice. It is gorgeous!.
