Over the last 5 years I developed mild eczema on my hands, usually when the seasons change (autumn to winter/winter to spring) and I am always trying to find ways to ensure I don’t irritate my skin.
I always use body lotions/creams but often they are scented or have irritants included in the ingredients so to find a product from Pai, a London based brand, that is specifically formulated to not irritate skin prone to eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis was a revelation.
Pai Comfrey & Calendula Calming Body Cream is an alternative to aqueous cream that hydrates and comforts dry and aggravated skin.

The description on the Pai website is that the ingredients actively support the natural moisture barrier while still allowing the skin to breathe, so your skin feels deeply nourished – never smothered.
Calming Calendula brings visible relief to patches of irritation, while Comfrey helps to combat itchiness and contains a clever compound, allantoin, to improve the appearance of dry skin.
Our rich Body Cream gets its delicate and comforting aroma from Jasmine and Orange Peel Oils, so looking after difficult skin feels like a luxurious experience.
At the end of March as we were transitioning in to spring a small patch of eczema appeared on my wrist and it was sore and itchy. I received this cream to try and I have been using it for the past two weeks.
Pai Comfrey & Calendula Calming Body Cream – Initial Thoughts And First Use
When I first got the product I opened it straight away and took out the tube. I squeezed the plastic tube and a very thick, slightly lumpy cream dispensed in to my hand. I used directly out of the shower and all over the body.

You don’t need a huge amount for your whole body and the cream does sink in really well without leaving a greasy texture behind. Immediately I noticed my skin was soft and wasn’t irritated at all. I also noticed that the eczema on my wrist wasn’t red or itchy which sometimes it can be with highly scented body creams.
The scent is not my favourite if I am honest but it goes away very quickly. It isn’t a perfume, you can tell it’s from all the oils that are present in the product which include:
Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil* – Sunflower Oil
Olea Europaea Oil* – Calendula Oil
Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil* – Jojoba Oil
Prunus Domestica Seed Oil* – Plum Seed Oil
Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil – Echium Seed Extract
Jasminum Grandiflorum Flower Extract* – Jasmine Oil
Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil* – Orange Peel Oil

Pai Comfrey & Calendula Calming Body Cream – Results
After one week of use I noticed that my eczema on my wrist had gone completely which is amazing after such a short time. I have enjoyed using the cream and will continue to use it daily.

Really insightful review – I’m not a fan of products that have no fragrance other than the oils used but it’s great to know the smell disappears. I may have to give this a try! I love a product that’s non greasy and this sounds brilliant!
Comfrey and Calendula are great healing herbs so I’m not surprised it helped your eczema. Glad it helped! Xo
This sounds like a really great product, and the packaging is pretty too! I often struggle to find products that dont aggravate my eczema!
