Here’s another little snippet of news for you. There’s a rather exciting new nail launch coming – get ready for an industry first, Orly BB Creme for nails.
I know that some of you will be thinking, Oh Lord, where will it ever stop? But personally, I get very excited by the way that skincare approaches are being applied to much more than just our skin. We can now have the same care for hair and nails too. I am thinking that a BB Cream for teeth is either on its way, or already exists.
I have always wanted to look after my hair like I look after my skin, and it makes sense to do the same with nails too. In fact, I think that the Butter London Nail 999 system I have been using is pretty much a BB cream for nails already. BB stands for Blemish Balm and I find that the base coat from this kit does for my nails what a good BB can do for my skin, and so far it has brightened and smoothed them whilst concealing and improving discolouration. I think the Orly BB Creme promises to do the same and hopefully more!
The Orly BB Creme for Nails is:
A multipurpose nail treatment formula that moisturises, whitens, creates a smooth nail surface and also protect the nails from UV exposure. And the UV element is key for it to sit in the BB category, although I have to say, I have never particularly worried about my nails being exposed to the sun! Should I?!
Anti-Ageing for Nails? Orly BB Creme ingredient
- Hyaluronic Acid – smoothing agent that perfects the surface of the nail for a sleek finish
- Sodium Hyaluronate – hydrates the nail
- Glass Microspheres – provides a chip-resistant, durable finish
- Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) – acts as an anti-oxidant to protect the nail from free radicals
- Titanium Dioxide – whitens the appearance of the nail and a specialty blend waxes lighten and brighten
It is pretty much anti-ageing for nails and why not? I have accepted that my hair ages just like my skin does, and I think I have always known that nails age too. I just never really thought about trying to stop them.
I am looking forward to seeing this and will report back once I have tried. I am up for it. They say hands can give away your true age and it couldn’t hurt for my nails to look younger too! What do you think? Are you with me or do you think the beauty world has gone mad?
The Orly BB Creme for Nails will be available from August 2014. Find out more about Orly HERE.
