So here is the latest phase in the No7 Protect and Perfect story. After the media frenzy that greeted the launch of No7’s first anti-ageing serum back in 2007 there is now something even bigger…. the No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serums. They promise to be even more effective than their clinically proven originals and clincal trials have seen spectacular anti-ageing results. Exciting!!
No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serums
In 2007, when University of Manchester studies revealed the effectiveness of the original No7 Protect & Perfect serum, Boots sold a whole years’ stock in just under 2 weeks. Ever since, the scientists have been working to create products that can deliver even better results. The partnership with Universities has grown and Boots works with a range of research partners and global clinical research organisations across a range of different skin areas.
No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum
There are 2 new products No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum and No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum and the big headline news is…. 100s of women tested the new Advanced Serums and 80% saw their best anti-ageing results ever. In addition to this, 8 women tested the serums for 1 month and all the mirrors in their homes were taken away. They were astounded at their results when the big reveal came.
No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serums
No7 decided to measure their new products against their already highly successful and effective current Protect & Perfect serums, to really show just how much they have improved on work already done.
Results for No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced (for first signs of ageing):
No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum Before & After (3 month clinical trial)
In trials, the new serum was compared against the previous serum and also untreated skin all measured on lines and wrinkles around the eye area. We have results for 1 month, 2 months and 3 months.
We see that both the original and the new serum show significant improvements after one month, and that as time goes on the new serums really starts to flex its muscles and power ahead. The results on this 27 year woman after 3 months show crows feet practically disappearing.
Results for No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced (for 35+):
As with the Advanced Serum, Intense Advanced was trialled against the original Intense serum and also untreated skin focusing on the eye area. This time the trial period was 6 months and as a matter of fact, because the results have been so impressive, it is actually still continuing in order to fully capture the long term benefits.
The new serum again performs significantly better than the original and the improvements actually begin to dramatically increase as time goes on, which is why the trial has been allowed to run on to assess how long this wrinkle-reducing effect of the new serum might continue.
I am all about the results but in case you’re interested in the new formula, here’s the lowdown.
The Matrixyl 3000 peptide blend was in the original formulae and research has shown that it was key ingredient in delivering the serum’s benefits. To maximise these benefits, Matrixyl 3000 has been concentrated by adding an extra peptide – acetyl-di-peptide – into the mix, bringing us the powerful Matrixyl 3000 Plus. This means that there’s now 30 times more repair peptide than the original serum.
There are new Rice Peptides to protect the skin from free radical and also No7’s existing Antioxidant Complex.
New to the formula of No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum is Salicylic Acid which has been included to cater for younger adult skins and their tendency to break out and also to improve the penetration of the formula as it encourages the shedding of old skin cells. Those with blemish prone skin will value its ability to clear clogged skin and neutralise bacteria. No need to make a choice between spots and ageing. Excellent!
For the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense ADVANCED Serum (35+), the same additions have been made with the exception of Salicylic Acid which has been swapped out for a Firming Boost in the shape of Hyaluronic Acid.
I have been using the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense ADVANCED Serum once a day nearly every day for a couple of weeks. In spite of the fact that it is supposed to be used twice daily, I still think I have noticed a slight improvement in lines and am fairly confident that continued and more intense use would deliver stronger results. I would need to trial it properly to personally determine this to be the case though, and unfortunately time does not allow this. Note that you do need to combine with use of a day and night cream.
The all new No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum (£23.95) and No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum (£24.95) will be available on 14th May 2014 at Boots. If people get as excited about this as they did the first time around (and they probably should) then I PREDICT A RIOT!
