NIVEA Pure and Natural Range

Just before Christmas, I received a fabbie package filled with products from Nivea’s newest innovation, NIVEA Pure and Natural.

“For the first time in the mass market, the most trusted name in skincare is bringing to the masses effective natural skincare combining advanced skincare expertise with effective natural ingredients that work in perfect harmony with the skin.”

The lead ingredient 100% organic Argan Oil, gives skincare benefits for the body and face care products.  A natural source of Vitamin E, Argan Oil contains three times as much Vitamin E as Olive Oil and is a natural antioxidantRich in essential, precious fatty acids it provides effective and natural protection against free radicals whilst proven to create a skin smoothing effect.*

Supporting the local communities
Argan Oil has been a beauty secret used by the Berber Women in Morocco for millennia and for the Berbers is an important source of income.  Sourced from a cooperative in Mogador the Argan Oil supports the Berber Women and provides the rural population with a stable income.  The cultivation of Argan Oil helps prevent desertification, because the deep roots act like reservoirs, allowing the communities to re-cultivate the land where it was previously too dry.

I have been using most of the proucts every day since they came so that I can give you my a full run down of how well Nivea has done.

NIVEA Pure & Natural Cleanser and Toner (both £3.36)

NIVEA Pure & Natural Cleanser & Toner

I love this little duo, especially as I was in serious need of new cleansing products, and these arrived just in the nick of time.

The cleanser is a lovely cream gel consistency and it feels fresh and light as it goes on. I have been massaging it on and then removing it with a damp cotton pad and it is really effective for makeup removal. It is gentle enough to use on the eyes too. In the morning, I put it on and then rinse off in the shower.

The Toner is super refreshing and gentle. Once used, my skin feels super clean and has been very clear throughout the whole time I’ve been using it.

NIVEA Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream (£5.10)

NIVEA Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream

This is a nice light moisturiser. It is excellent as a base for makeup and is also very flattering on the skin for the days when I go without makeup. It leaves skin looking very fresh and smooth. I love the fact that it is paraben and nasties free and that the majority of its ingredients are organic.

My only reservation is that it is not an anti-ageing formula, and as I’m obsessed with lines and wrinkles, it makes me nervous, so I haven’t used it as much as I could have. I find it hard to see the point of moisturisers that don’t contain anti-ageing properties.

I do know, however, that the range does contain the NIVEA Pure & Natural Facial Anti-Wrinkle Day and Night Care which I am very keen to try.

NIVEA Pure & Natural Lip Balm (£1.99)

NIVEA Pure & Natural Lip Balm

Love this lip balm. It’s really soothing and moisturising and smells absolutely delish! I have used it everyday and have been carrying it around with me. Considering the toll the cold weather can take on lips, it has been keeping them in very good condition.

NIVEA Pure & Natural Body Lotion for normal to dry skin (£3.57)

NIVEA Pure & Natural Body Lotion

Speaking as a complete body moisturising obsessive, this lotion ticks all the boxes. If you regularly read this blog, you’ll know that I can’t stand 30 seconds out of the shower without slapping on the cream.

This lotion is for normal to dry skin, but because I am paranoid about my skin drying out and getting itchy, I always normally go for a product for very dry skin. This, however, was perfectly efficient and has kept my skin feeling super comfy.

NIVEA Pure & Natural hand Cream (£3.05)

NIVEA Pure & Natural hand Cream

I don’t use hand cream as much as I should, in fact it is one of my aims to try to use it more, but because I am such a body moisturiser freak, they kind of get done then. I have been using this hand cream and I have to say, I really like it. It is lovely and creamy yet it literally sinks in straight away, leaving you ready to get on with things.

I let my boyfriend try it out because he’s a plasterer and suffers with dry skin on his hands as a result. He found it very moisturising and commented on how quickly it sank it. Excellent!

Overall, I am giving the range a massive thumbs up and the ones I would particularly purchase in the future are the cleanser and toner, the body lotion and the lip balm. It feels good that it’s a natural and responsible range plus it is definitely effective, so there is no compromise.

The NIVEA Pure and Natural products will be available from 20th February 2011. Visit www.nivea.co.uk

  • Looks like a great range at a great price. The lipbalm and body cream would be somethink i might well buy in the future. Thanks for the review xx

  • The lipbalm is fantastic, it really works and has a nice feeling on your lips, I have bought 2 just to ensure I’m never without one. I have also tried the hand cream which is very good and has a nice smell and is quite thick, it is very good to apply before bedtime and let it sink in all night, well worth it’s money.

  • I have tried the Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream and although it seems gentle on the skin, I couldn’t get past the smell.

Not pleasant. It has undertones of the smell of vomit!

Not what you’d expect from Nivea. Their other creams smell so nice.

  • Soft & Gentle describes it in full.I have never been so impressed with a new product as with this range. It beats all the more expensive brands that I have tried recently

  • Wow. I’m a bit slow on the uptake but will be trying all this range. I’m a lover or all beauty products that are nasties-free but they always seem to be the most expensive products. These are a snip.
