NikkieTutorials has launched her own beauty brand and it’s called Nimya. All in blue and orange packaging, there are a range of products all designed to prep and prime the skin. I have them here to show you.
What is Nimya?
Nimya is a new beauty brand creater by makeup artist and YouTuber Nikkie de Jager, also known as NikkieTutorials.
Nikkie has launched a collection of five products under the Nimya brand. The collection includes:
- License To Glow Serum 50ml £32
- Where It All Starts 45ml £22
- Brrr Brrr Cooling Eye Stick 12g £19
- Set It & Forget It Spray 19ml £22
- Blow Before You Go fan £13
License To Glow Serum
This is a massive bottle of serum! You get a whole 50ml for £32 which I think is really good value. It doesn’t look like your regular serum because it’s blue. It kind of reminds me of the Flower Beauty Supernova Celestial Skin Elixir to look at, although that one is more of an oil than a serum texture.
License To Glow is a serum designed to deliver a radiant skin finish. It combines skincare ingredients and mica to reduce redness and promote glow.
- Pineapple fruit extract for mild exfoliation
- Grapefruit extract for antioxidant protection and moisturisation
- Marula oil to hydrate and reduces redness
- Grapeseed oil rich in Vitamin E to protect and smooth
- Squalane for anti-inflammatory benefit
- Responsibly sourced MICA for instant glow
The serum can be included in your skincare routine or used as a primer to prep the skin for makeup.
Nimya Where It All Starts Cream-Primer
This is a really interesting product and I saw Nikkie using this on her YouTube channel. It gives a lovely skin-perfecting finish to the skin.
Where It All Starts Cream is a Moisturiser-Primer Hybrid and it has a really interesting, whipped texture. It contains Glycerin which is one of my favourite moisturising ingredients.
- Glycerin to moisturise
- Honey for soothing and antibacterial benefit
- Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate the skin
- MICA for instant glow
I feel like this could be the range’s hero product and I am excited to see how this extends makeup longevity. I am quite on and off with primers, so I am going to give this a proper go and report back. Stay tuned.
Nimya Brr Brr Cooling Eye Stick
This stick has been designed to be a skincare treatment that doubles as a primer for makeup around the eyes.
It has a gentle cooling sensation and aims to reduce puffiness and hydrate the skin. Plus it primes the skin for makeup.
- Caffeine to reduce puffiness and inflammation
- Green Tea Extract to calms irritation and even out discolouration
- MICA for instant glow
- Olive Squalene for anti-inflammatory benefit to reduce redness
- Xylitol for cooling benefit
- Silk amino acids to reduce fine lines
I have had a play with this product and it delivers a mild cooling effect. Nothing too crazy in terms of the chill factor, and it’s nice and comfortable on the delicate eye area.
I haven’t tried this under makeup yet so I don’t know how it performs as a primer, but I am keen to try this but let you know.
Nimya Set It & Forget It Spray
This setting spray has been formulated with PVP (Polyvinylpyrrolidone) which is a film-former that locks in makeup.
It has a fine yet generous mist and a couple of spritzes will be enough to cover the face. It is lightly fragranced with the Nimya signature scent which is softly floral and skin-like.
I am yet to test this, but it promises to allow you to set your makeup for a long-lasting and flawless finish. I will let you know!
Nikkie recommends using her Blow Before You Go fan to lock it in. She also says you should use this instead of water to wet your beauty sponges and eyeshadow brushes for extra long-lasting results.
Nimya Blow Before You Go Fan
This is an excellent fan and it’s really powerful! I’d recommend this to anyone that gets flushed and needs a breath of fresh air!
There are three speed settings and number three will dry your setting mist in seconds!! It also comes with a little stand if you just want to set it up where you’re working. Maybe one to get in time for summer! Love this.
My Review of Nimya Skincare
I will be updating this section over the next couple of weeks because, right now, I can only share my first impressions.
Although the products are presented as skincare, the emphasis is definitely on makeup prepping and priming, and on that basis I can’t see any of the products replacing any serious skincare products.
Having said that, I have to say I am really impressed with the collection. I think the hero product will be the Where It All Starts cream which on first try, instantly improves the appearance of my bare complexion. I will share photos as soon as I can.
I also have high hopes for the setting spray, especially used in combination with the fan which is a little powerhouse!
In terms of packaging, it is all very solid and doesn’t feel cheap in any way. The colour combination is not to my taste, but at least it looks different to everything else out there.
I’ll update more when I have further feedback for you.
If you have sensitive skin, you may want to approach the Setting Spray and Primer cream with caution as they both contain fragrance. The rest of the collection is fragrance-free, I believe.
Also, little heads up, you can buy the full collection in a bundle that saves you £13.
