I am so excited to have had the opportunity to have a little play with the brand new BB Skin Perfecting Cream from Clarins.

I am a big fan of Clarins skincare and makeup – one of my top foundations is the Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation, so I have high hopes for the BB cream that is both skincare and makeup in one.
I love Clarins and I love BB creams – can you imagine my excitement?
Now I haven’t had the chance to actually put this on my face yet, but I have had a little play with all three shades and am very impressed so far. Here is a swatch of the medium shade, No 2.

And here it is blended out:

One of the first things I noticed about it was that it is really smooth and creamy and blends in really easily. It feels extremely moisturising at first and once worked in, it leaves a demi-matte texture with a luminous finish. – what Clarins term ‘satin’. Also it smells absolutely lovely – really fresh and faintly floral.
During the demonstration at the Clarins Paris event, the head makeup artist applied it to his model under the close scrutiny of an HD camera and I watched it literally lift and brighten her complexion in an instant. It erased signs of dullness and evened out the complexion with light skin perfecting coverage. Such a lovely finish, like a second skin, and I think could probably build to medium coverage – I shall experiment with that.
I am excited to get it on my face, which I’ll do first thing, and see how long it lasts and how it wears.
It has SPF 25 and top rated UVA protection which I am really pleased to see. It comes in 3 shades – light, medium and dark – but they all blend really well and contain colour matching technology, so I think I could get away with either shade 1 or 2. Even the darkest shade didn’t look too out of place on me once I had worked at blending it for a while.
It will be available for £28 in the UK in May. It’s is out in the US in March.
I have a feeling this is going to be a winner!
