Whether you have short, long, straight, or curly hair – everyone wants to have healthy shiny hair. WHY because the first impression at any event or work counts. You do not only want to be dressed for success you want your hair to look great too.
So how do you make your hair look shinier without spending a fortune on expensive products loaded with chemicals? You use what you have in your kitchen.

What causes hair damage?
Answering this question is simple. The outer layer of your hair consists of natural oil. This oil keeps your hair moist and shiny and once these layers become damaged it starts to look dry, dull, and unhealthy. There are different things that cause dry and dull hair, from illnesses, deficiencies in your nutrition, the use of hair care products, overexposure to the sun and not using a good conditioner.
Luckily, with a bit of effort and using some natural products, you can get your hair back to its healthy glow and looking great at all times.
Coconut Oil

To keep your hair shiny it needs nourishment. Applying oil on a regular basis can help to keep it glowing. Use organic and unrefined coconut oil to restore moisture to your damaged hair.
- Leave the oil in warm water and apply to your hair, from the root to the ends. Massage the oil in and wrap it with a towel or shower cap for half an hour. Rinse, shampoo, and condition your hair as normal.
- Do this once or twice a week depending on the condition of your hair – you can also use olive oil or almond oil using the same process
Apple Cider Vinegar

This is another excellent hair conditioner to keep your hair moisturised. The great thing about apple cider vinegar is that it removes built-up residue that normally makes your hair look lifeless. It can also help with treating dandruff, fizzy hair, and itchy scalp.
- Mix equal parts of water with the apple cider vinegar – wash your hair and pour the mixture into your hair while massaging it into the scalp. Leave for a few minutes and rinse it off with cold water.
- Alternatively, you can mix 2 tsp of the apple cider vinegar with the juice of a lemon and one cup of water. Use the mixture as your final hair rinse after washing your hair.
Use this remedy at most once a week so as not to damage the hair.
