If you’re a bit of a magpie like me, you will want to see the new NARS Powerchrome Loose Eye Pigments I have them here to show you with photos and swatches. Here’s what they look like and how to use them.

What is NARS Powerchrome?

NARS Powerchrome Swatches

The shades:

• Shock’em – shimmering pale rose
• Slam – shimmering rose gold
• Stricken – shimmering brown bronze
• Riding High – shimmering antique green
• Naked City – shimmering bright cobalt blue
• Hammered – shimmering blackened red

My Review

So as you can potentially see from the swatches and also the individual pots themselves, the texture does vary between shades.

NARS Powerchrome in Shock’em is actually pretty chunky straight out of the pot and is the one that requires the most work for application. I have to say though, this doesn’t mean it isn’t pretty.

Once the texture of the Shock’em shade is smoothed out, you get the most amazing glass-like shine with bigger particles of glitter. If you don’t like glitter, you won’t like this though.

Slam and Hammered are easier to work with and much more of a metallic, shimmer shadow texture and less loose in the pot.

They are super pigmented and glide on to the lid easily straight from the fingertip. I absolutely love Slam for a shiny day look and Hammered for more drama.

I wore Slam on completely unprimed lids. I find it flattering and it lasted really well.

How to Apply NARS Powerchrome

NARS are encouraging a Push, Press, Play approach which means you pick it up with your fingertip, work the texture into the back of your hand, and then apply it to the eyes. As I said above, Slam and Hammered can pretty much go straight to the lid from the fingertip if you prefer.
