I am not a fan of powder so I was very interested to try this product. I love a glowy, dewy finish, but because I have combination skin, this can often end up with quite an oily looking t-zone, which can take my look from fresh and flawless to just plain greasy after a couple of hours.

Also, I love cushion products, so this is exciting!!

I have been testing this out and about and I have to say, it works very well to combat the look of oily skin in my t-zone. You only need to lightest touch of the liquid on the puff and you gently press it on top of the makeup to instantly mattify. Don’t swipe it, because that could disturb the makeup. I find less is more with this.

I also thought I’d try it as a primer and I can share photos of its effect on the skin when used like this:

I chose the glowiest foundation that I am loving at the moment. It’s the Bobbi Brown cushion one and I find I have to set it with powder in the t-zone to take down the shine enough. This is it without powder and I really like what using the Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector as a primer does to the finish.

I like this product as a primer and it is great for on the go touch ups, although it is a little bulky to carry around. It might be easier just to carry blotting papers.

The Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector is £32 and currently available HERE.
