I always get excited when Murad launch a new skincare product because it doesn’t happen that often and there’s always carry out lengthy research and development before each one. The latest product is the Murad Daily Clarifying Peel, which I have been trying out. Here are my thoughts.

Because I didn’t think this was necessarily for my skin type, I wasn’t actually planning to do a full blog review on this. However, I was interested to try it and I have shared the product a few times on my Instagram stories, and it has attracted a bit of interest. So I thought it deserved a review.

My Review

I wasn’t sure that I was really looking for a new peel as I have quite a few acid exfoliators that I love, but I have really been enjoying this one. Also, I was very tempted by the fact that, as well as the combination of salicylic and glycolic, there’s also a retinoid in there. It’s delivering quite a lot in one go.

I don’t use it every night, but I have been swiping it on after cleansing a few evenings a week. I let it sit on my skin alone before applying anything on top, whilst I brush my teeth.

It feels gentle, and actually really hydrating rather than stripping. I was pretty impressed by this considering the blend of BHA, AHA and retinoid. It has been fine on my skin, even from the first use, and I think I could probably use this every night without dryness or irritation. Two to three times a week seems enough for me right now though.

I suffer with a bit of congestion on the sides of my chin, and I have found using the Murad Daily Clarifying Peel two or three times a week really effective at smoothing that out. It seems to gently unclog the pores to visibly improve the texture and flatten out the bumps.

I haven’t been using it long enough or often enough to see its full potential, but I am definitely pleased with the clarity and texture benefits. It seems to have a nice tightening effect on the pores too.

I think this is a lovely peel that really delivers the skin soothing I want in a gentle formula. If you’re on the sensitive side, I’d recommend introducing it slowly, but considering how gentle this is, it could be a great option.

How to use it

The peel is designed to be used daily, but if you’re sensitive it’s best to ease in gently and build up.

You simply shake it up to blend all the actives, drop some onto a reusable cotton pad and swipe it all over the skin after cleansing.
