Models Own Colour Chrome Review & Swatches

I love me some flashy nails and this new collection from Models Own certainly ticks that box!  Promising a liquid metal effect, there are 10 shades of Models Own Colour Chrome coming our way. Take a look at the shades and see my swatches.

I am loving the bottles. I like the way they have the chrome treatment from top to bottom and I think that Models Own have managed to make them rather pretty. Sometimes shiny can look super tacky but I think these have been done well.

Models Own Colour Chrome – The Shades

There are 10 shades in the collection – I have 5 of them:

• Indigo (pictured)
• Mauve (pictured)
• Cerise (pictured)
• Rose (pictured)
• Pink
• Gold
• Silver
• Olive (pictured)
• Green
• Blue

Models Own are describing these as molten metal nail polishes that deliver a super shiny foil finish. It’s a lightweight formula that applies easily. I usually really struggle with metallic shades and often get a very streaky finish. I found these pretty smooth and although there were little streaks here and there, it was more down to the texture of my nail than the polish itself.

I haven’t used a top coat with any of these but I think it would really enhance the finish. I will have to try it. I think my favourite shade is mauve, which was a surprise but I’d imagine Rose is going to be a hit because we’re all still pretty obsessed with rose gold and it’s really very pretty.

The Models Own Colour Chrome collection launches online  at Models Own on 29th January 2015, hits the Models Own stores on 31st January and then goes into Superdrug from the 11th February.
