Being quite a fan of Maybelline mascaras, I was keen to try out the latest addition to the portfolio. Here’s the low down on the Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara. I have before and after photos for you.
Apparently this mascara went viral on TikTok, but because I don’t use TikTok, I completely missed the hype. So when I tried this, none of that was in my head! That said, this is a fantastic high street mascara in my opinion.

Is Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara Tubing?
I am starting with this question, because any time I talk about any mascara, it is always the first question I get asked. The terminology that Maybelline use is ‘washable formula’. I am not entirely sure what that means, but what I do know is that it doesn’t remove like a tubing mascara.
I find that a bi-phase remover, like Bi-facil from Lancome* works really well. I have also used a cleansing balm to get it off.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara Review
This is a really impressive high street mascara and the length it delivers is fantastic. One coat gives pretty dramatic length immediately and would be enough for any makeup look.
The formula is really easy to build and with a second coat, you get real exaggerated length and also lovely volume. I love how flexible the brush is. It makes the formula glide on to the lashes effortlessly and you can get to even the shortest lashes really easily.
In terms of staying power, again it is excellent. I have tested it for two full days with unpowdered foundation products. It lasted better with a matte finish foundation, which is to be expected. With the matte base, there was no smudging at all, and with a dewy base it moved a little bit but very minimally.
Maybelline Sky High vs Lancome Lash Idole
I have been asked to compare Sky High with Lancome’s latest launch and I have to say it competes with it very well indeed. I have my Lancome Lash Idole review for you to check out, but in summary, I’d say that you get better length from the Maybelline mascara. The Lancome formula feels slightly lighter on the lashes, and has a slighty more robust formula in terms of staying powder, in that it smudged less on a dewy, unset foundation.
For the record, there is minimal smudging / flaking for both products.
