Maybelline Baby Lips were a huge hit and we are all waiting anxiously for the launch of the Baby Lips Electro collection which are the lip balms’ neon counterparts here in the UK – hopefully some time in 2014. But in the mean time we have Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.
Here’s a good look at it for you:

Baby Skin is Maybelline’s first ever pore refining primer created to disguise enlarged pores and even out the skin without clogging it. It is a lightweight breathable gel that contains blurring spheres to diffuse light and promote even looking skin.
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser contains anti-oxidant cherry extracts and is fragrance-free and gentle so suitable for sensitive skin types. It does contain Dimethicone, which is a silicone, so this may put you off particuarly if your skin doesn’t get on well with silicones. Personally, they don’t upset my skin and dimethicone is reported as being non-clogging.
So back to performance. I have taken some photos with Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser applied to one side (left as you see it), but not to the other.

I really like the blurring effect it has on my skin and the pores are definitely less visible on the less side of the photo and I also think the lines below the inner corner of my eyes are less obvious too.
It feels really light, so will be great for no makeup days to give you more of an airbrushed look, and as it is undetectable on the skin, great for guys too. As it is also a primer that mattifies any shiny areas and prolongs the life of makeup, I applied my foundation of the moment YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundtion over it to see how it fared.

This foundation is so amazing that it doesn’t really need a primer to perfect my skin, so the difference between the Baby Skin side and the non-Baby Skin side is less apparent, although I think perhaps the pores are less visible. What do you think? It applied really nicely on top and you can’t feel it on the skin at all.
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is getting great reviews on Asia where it has already been released and if it follows in the Baby Lips footsteps, it will be a huge success when it launches here in the UK. It is £7.99 and will launch January 2014 – keep checking Boots and Superdrug. You can join the Boots waiting list here.

I think it’s because it’s called Baby Skin and they don’t want people thinking it is for babies.

When I saw the comparison photo I said “oh wow!”, there’s definitely a difference! I’ll have to buy this when I come across it, I didn’t think it would make that much of a difference but it’s rather noticeable!
