I first spotted the Max Factor Clump Defy Extensions Mascara backstage at London Fashion Week in February 2014 and it wasn’t even in its final packaging. As a fan of Max Factor mascaras and particularly the original Clump Defy formula, I got rather excited about it!

I have said it before and I’ll say it again, Max Factor really do know their stuff when it comes to mascara and it is always the first brand I recommend if someone is looking for a high street brand. New Max Factor Clump Defy Extensions Mascara hasn’t let me down and I am super impressed.

Max Factor Clump Defy Extensions Mascara Brush

It promises to be a 3 in 1 mascara that delivers buildable volume and length without clumping. It has the Clump Defy original anti-clump brush which combs through the lashes. It has ‘precisely aligned’ bristles which are smaller than clumps meaning that they are not able to form.

Max Factor Clump Defy Extensions Formula

New Clump Defy Extensions has a lengthening formula that actually contains intense carbon black fibres that build volume and length on to the lashes. It actually promises to deliver up to 200% more volume. That actually sounds a little scary! I have put it to the test for you here, so check out the photos.

Max Factor Clump Defy Extensions Mascara Before & After Photos

I absolutely love the effect. One coat is perfect for defining and lengthening the lashes in an instant and look really natural and fluttery. 2 coats adds even more volume and length yet the lashes stay separated and is doesn’t look over done.

I used it on un-curled lashes and I think this mascara is fantastic at really lifting the lashes from the root and giving them a very pretty curled, fanned out look. This effect lasted beautifully until the evening without fading or flaking. Wonderful! This is definitely going up there with my favourites across all price bands. It is a brilliant mascara and even more brilliant at its £11.99 price tag. Excellent value!
