Maria Nila Colour Refresh in Autumn Red promises to last up to 10 washes and so testing that tooka a while as I don’t actually wash my hair that often (sorry not sorry). Here’s the review with the product all fully checked out!

So this brand is actually from Sweden and first hit UK shores in 2015. It is all about high performance yet ultra caring products. The Maria Nila Colour Refresh is basically a hair mask that nourishes, repairs and protects, but also injects a vibrant colour of your choice.

When I tested this product, I had gone red for a project with Nice n Easy a few months earlier, and I wanted to boost the colour but not actually use any harsh chemicals on my already over styled and treated hair. The Maria Nila Colour Refresh was just the ticket.
Maria Nila Colour Refresh Features
- Nourishing mask
- Temporary colour pigments to boost and refresh shade
- Colour gradually washes out of the hair
- 100% vegan ingredients
- Paraben free
- Sulphate free
I absolutely love the packaging of this range. I was already using the Maria Nila Luminous Colour Shampoo and Conditioner which smells so gorgeous and leaves my hair super hydrated, soft and shiny. The whole range looks like the perfect bathroom accessory.

Maria Nila Colour Refresh – How To Use
This is really simple to use.
- Just wash the hair
- Gently towel dry it
- Wearing the gloves that come with the product, apply the colour evenly through the hair
- Leave it to work for 3-10 minutes, depending on how intense you want to result to be
- Rinse out thoroughly
- Finish with conditioner

I absolutely love the instant result of this and the colour certainly lasts. It really popped on the red carpet at Cannes! Posh!

I think it probably was still pretty noticeable after about 5 washes and then it started to fade. It was hard to tell how much longer it lasted, as overall my colour was still looking pretty vibrant.
Next time I will be more careful to concentrate it at the roots, because the colour intensified more in the mid lengths and ends. This was to be expected as the older hair is much more porous. I kind of accidentally on purpose got a subtle red ombre effect that I really loved. I think I actually told someone it was intentional. I started to believe my own hype!! Ooops!
This is a brilliant little number. It doesn’t quite have the power to cover stubborn greys but it gives an excellent hit of colour and a real increase in the look of healthy hair. It was soft and pampered.
