A lot of people have been very excited about this! Or maybe slightly concerned because Makeup Forever decided to completely reformulate one of their classic foundations, Face and Body. It’s always a bit scary when brands decide to do that! What if you don’t like it as much?! Well I am pretty confident that you’ll like the evolution of Face and Body – here’s the low down on the brand new Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation. I have a bottle here and I’m not afraid to use it!!!
Update – now available in the UK HERE.

So this newbie is offering everything that the original offered but this time with a whole lot more skin-loving hydration. The new formulation has been made with 80% vitamin-enriched water to instantly hydrate the skin and give it a hit of pro-vitamin B5, glycerin and mango butter.

You know that watery-gel texture of the original formulation, this is like that too but a little thicker, and it works nicely into the skin with fingers or a buffing brush.
I don’t have the correct shade so I had to blend quite a bit more than I normally would, but I love the skin-like finish this delivers. It layers up really nicely, and start as a sheer coverage that can be built up to medium-full. You can build the layers without it getting cakey which is great news is you are looking for more coverage but you want to keep things looking skin-like.

One of the key differences with the Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation is that it is waterproof. This means that it is even more long lasting and transfer resistant than the original. If you want something that lasts all day and night, then this is it.
Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation Swatch – R370

I always find the MUFE shades confusing. My number in Face and Body is 36 and it works well on my skin tone, although it is a little pink. The equivalent shade in the new shade names is R240. The sample I have is R370 which is too dark – I probably need one of the Y shades – perhaps Y225.

Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation Before & After

Despite it not being my match, I still really like the finish. It looked naturally radiant and flawless and lasted very well indeed. Imagine how brightening it would be in a lighter shade. I think this is a great improvement on an already brilliant formulation.

Which one is better — this or the mac warerweight foundation? How do they compare?
that’s tough. I don’t have waterblend in my shade so I haven’t worn it a lot. Love waterweight but I think waterblend is longer lasting
