Masks are HUGE in beauty at the moment and it is excellent to see the high street coming out with some really high quality, sophisticated yet affordable products. The L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Face Mask Range is an excellent example of these and there are three to choose from. Exciting!!

I am loving what L’Oreal are doing with clay at the moment. The Elvive Clay haircare range is brilliant and now they are bringing it with the face masks! Yay.

As I said, there are 3 to choose from:

  • Pure Clay Purity Mask – Purifies & Mattifies
  • Pure Clay Detox Mask – Detoxifies & Clarifies
  • Pure Clay Glow Mask – Brightens & Exfoliates

I am so excited to have these masks and each one is seriously appealing. Each pot contains 50ml and promises to deliver 10 treatments. They use three pure clays and then are customised with different ingredients to deliver different benefits.

The three clays are Kaolin to absorb impurities and excess sebum, the Montmorillonite to eliminate imperfections, and Ghassoul to clarify. Each one is designed to be applied in a thin layer, left for 5 to 10 minutes and then removed.

This mask uses the three pure clays with the addition of eucalyptus to purify the skin. It promises to work deep into the pores and leave skin clean and matte looking, without drying the skin. A week’s use (2-3 times) promises skin that looks mattified, cleaner and softer.

L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Mask

This is the Charcoal one and this ingredient has been included to act like a magnet to draw out impurities. It has a creamy texture that cleanses the skin’s surface to leave it clarified without dryness. After a week, skin should feel fresher and more luminous.

Along with the three pure clays, the Glow mask contains Red Algae which is known for its brightening capability. This one has a beaded, creamy texture to exfoliate the skin and illuminate tone. A week’s use promises tighter pores and refined texture.

It was hard to choose which one to test first, but I went for Detox because I think that’s always a good place to start. The texture is lovely – very creamy and soothing and it left my skin feeling ultra clean – I could almost feel it sucking the dirt out of my pores – yet not at all tight. Now I can’t wait to try the others.

The range launches on 6th July 2016 in the UK. FIND THEM TO ORDER ONLINE HERE. There are always lots of offers.

  • Hi Ree just wondering if these are similar in quality to the new Vichy masks reviewd on RR last week xx

    • Hello – yes both are great quality. The focus with these is all on deep cleansing, as they are all clay. I don’t know the price yet but it will be interesting to know for comparison xx

  • I just ordered all 3 on boots website they are on offer at the moment for £5,I’m a bit of a mask junkie

  • The detox mask has been giving me a few spots under the skin. From my understanding you can’t purge from products without active ingredients. But i don’t know if clay/charcoal is an exception? I usually have pretty clear skin. Any thoughts?

    • I am pretty sure that the point of the detox mask is to draw out impurities – which it does using Charcoal x

      • I have used the Detox pure clay and I could feel it pull all the pores together leaving my face smooth with a creamy results after few hours, I could still feel my face smoothness I cant wait to try the purity pure clay one. I have been using each a day that is three times a week lovely staff.

  • I have used the pure clay purity mask and it has left my skin feeling quite dry- with visible dry skin patches. I’m not sure if I’m using the right mask.. The areas on and around my nose can be oily and thats why I was told to go for this one. Any advice?
