My hair is usually frizzy, dry and quite thick so managing it can be a little challenging, especially in the summer when it is even bigger and untameable! I have my GHDs that I typically reach for, but I love having bouncy curls and beachy waves during the summer months. The Lee Stafford Coco Loco Wonderball Wand seemed like the perfect solution.

Lee Stafford is a brand that I’ve grown up using. However, this is the first hair tool that I’ve tried from Lee Stafford. The Coco Loco Wonderball Wand features a 25mm barrel, swivel cord and a tourmaline-ceramic barrel that is infused with coconut oil.  This is the feature I was most interested in. It claims that the coconut oil within the coating of the barrel helps to leave the hair smooth, soft and shiny as the heat from the curler transfers the coconut oil onto each hair shaft.

Before now, I’ve only tried ‘normal’ curling wands as well as the Babyliss Curl Secret. So, this unique looking curling wand was interesting to try out. I’ve used it quite a few times now and it is surprisingly easy to use. This is particularly the case as with my normal curlers my hair can slide off,  but that doesn’t happen with this wand.

It seems to heat up quickly. However, unlike the other hair tools I have, there’s no audible signal that it’s ready to use. For me, the cord is a little too short. Happily though, it’s a very quick and easy curling wand to use and I was able to create structured waves. I know this isn’t a typical term but it formed waves that were more defined than waves but not as tight as curls, if that makes sense!

Hopefully you will be able to understand the type of waves I mean with the photograph above. I personally love the effect that the wand gives as I’m not a fan of tight curls. I’d much rather have looser looking waves. For me, the waves lasted for a good few hours. However, they did appear to have dropped significantly by the end of the day. This was the case even with a mist of hairspray to keep them in place.

Despite the minor flaws, I loved the effect of the curling wand. It was very quick and easy to use.  Better still, it left my hair looking and feeling shiny, soft and smooth all day due to the coconut oil within the barrel coating!
