Before & After Photos

I decided to show you both shades on my skin because at first, I couldn’t decide which one worked better on my skin tone. Having tested it for a few weeks, my preferred shade is definitely the lighter one, 1W1 Porcelain.

My Review of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Light Revealer

I have been testing this out for a few weeks now and I have to say, I have been getting on really well with it. I always use concealer over the top for areas with extra redness, and the eye area when I want a makeup look, however, it great on its own for no makeup days.

I use it like a foundation and always do my full skincare prep, even though it’s designed as a tinted moisturiser product. I feel like a well moisturised and prepped skin helps the product to sink in well and blend out really easily.

Although it has SPF25, if I am going out, I always make sure I apply my sunscreen underneath it.

What skin type is it good for?

I have combination dehydrated skin with an slightly oily t-zone and it works very well for me. I do like to set the t-zone very lightly just to stop it from moving over from ‘glow’ to ‘shine’.

Is it suitable for oily skin?

I think if you were really worried about oil and shine, this may be one to avoid. I actually love the finish of the Tinted Moisturiser Oil-Free (review here), so that might be a better option for oily skin types.

Is it good for mature skin?

I personally think this is a great option for mature skin types because it is lovely and sheer and gives skin a pretty dewiness that’s very flattering.

Is it moisturising?

I think this offers a nice level of moisture and hydration, although I use moisturiser underneath and find it works best that way.

What coverage does it give?

This is designed to be a sheer coverage but I feel that it’s buildable and you can get a light-medium coverage. I find it good for covering redness and giving the complexion a much more even finish. As I said at the top, I tend to use concealer with it but without it, my skin looks much more perfected but like I’m not wearing anything at all.

It also feels like I have nothing on, and it definitely ticks the ‘weightless’ box. I literally cannot feel it on my face and it is super comfortable.

What finish does it deliver?

It gives the skin a lovely luminous finish, which obviously it is designed to do. It isn’t a crazy, shiny glow but a lovely natural radiance without the look of foundation at all.

How does it wear?

I like the way this wears and I actually find it pretty long lasting considering it’s a tinted moisturiser. It doesn’t seem to get shinier or more oily looking on my skin as the day goes on. If anything it tends to become a little more matte as it sinks into the skin.

Does the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Light Revealer oxidise?

I think this question relates to my indecision about whether I preferred the 1W1 Porcelain, or the 2W1 Natural. Originally, I thought that the 2W1 matched me better, but it actually gets a touch darker soon after application, so I have ended up preferring the 1W1 Porcelain much more.

Is it glittery?

For me this looks naturally radiant and luminous rather than glittery. I don’t see any glitter in it at all.

Replacement for Laura Mercier illuminating tinted moisturiser?

Although this isn’t a direct replacement for the Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser, that product has now been discontinued. So if you are looking for a glowy option, the new Light Revealer product is the one to check out.

I am not overly familiar with the Illuminating formula, however, if my memory serves me correctly, the new Light Revealer is a sheerer, more natural skin-like looking product.
