I love a bit of Laura Mercier makeup, so I was absolutely delighted to be introduced to the brand new Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette.

I may have told you before that Champagne by Laura Mercier was the first lip gloss I ever bought. People that know me will snigger that I am going on about this again because I always harp on about Champagne and how it had to have a name change due to copyright reasons and that I lost it for a long time because I didn’t know it still existed. I even insisted on telling Laura Mercier herself when I met her! Embarrassing!
Anyway! Back to the newness. I need to move on from Champagne. It was yeeeaaaarrrrrs ago!
Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette

This little beauty is going to be the answer to a lot of people’s prayers! You probably know that I am obsessed with contouring but cannot do it for toffee. The Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette is going to make things a lot easier.
This is all about contouring without trying – using super blendable , creamy formulas that become one with the skin for a natural yet softly sculpted look.
The texture is incredible. You simply apply where you want to contour or highlight, and then blend it out. You can use your fingers or a flat foundation brush with light strokes.
If you are worried about technique, fear not! Laura has included a tutorial and lots of tips and tricks in handy cards that sit behind the mirror. I am utterly reliant on how tos like this – because I often feel out of my depth with makeup application.

Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette Shades
The palette is a one stop shop for all skin tones:
- 3 neutral brown matte cremes – for shading
- 2 creme highlighters (light & dark) – for light reflection

This shade palette has been designed to suit all skin tones and even palies like me can use all the shades. I went into Harrods to meet with the lovely Sasha who is (amazing) and a lead makeup artist for LM so she could show me the palette up close and personal.
Sasha used Contour Shade #1 to start and showed be how to increase the intensity of the contour using a mix of #2 and #3. And considering how dark those shades are, the result was so natural. Keep reading to see the photos!

And here’s the result. I think it looks so natural and not like I have been contoured at all. Which I suppose is really the idea! You don’t want to complimented on your contouring, you want compliments on that incredible bone structure of yours!
As Laura says, “The key to everyday contouring is to be discrete”!

Love it!! And I have to say, I think it is a pretty good price! The kit is £35 and is available now at Harrods where it is being exclusively previewed. It launches nationwide from February 2015.

It looks amazing! I thought it would be a lot more expensive than it actually is!
That’s fantastic! I prefer to contour with powder so I hope they release a powder version. Great price too!
I’m surprised how reasonable the price is! Might have to put this on my birthday wishlist! Xx
this looks lovely! Would you say you preferred this over the Anastasia contour kit? I’m looking to invest in one, it was going to be anastasia but this has tempted me! I like that it’s cream countour…

I really like both. I suppose it depends on whether you prefer cream or powder. The LM is so blendable and natural – I think maybe it looks a bit more like skin than the Anastasia. xx
I’m just planning to buy a contour palette for 2015, and just like Mimi I was also thinking about the AB contouring palette, but now I’m hesitating. This palette seems really great too, so it will be a hard decision to make, after reading your review.
